HI HELLO!!!!! I just. Get possessed by demons and they do all the work..

uhm, I'll try to give an actual answer,, I start with a very basic rectangle, adjust it to be either longer or shorter/wider depending on what hand shape I'm going for, then do fingers. They're like if sausages had bones n bumps.. when I don't wanna bother with details, I draw them pretty much like actual sausages, also often merged together (?), then erase the base rectangle, add knuckles where the upper rectangle edge meets the beginning of the fingers.

Also something I used to do a lot but now only really use for more complicated hand gestures is drawing four circles at the top of the rectangle to know where the fingers go (they're also where the knuckles would go), then sketch out each segment. Helps to understand how to pose them when you can't do it right away. Also I stare at my hands / use photo references A LOT. I'm not very good at explaining, so I'll just put the sketch / lineart part of a timelapse I recorded for a friend here !

You can see what I'm talking about when I say "merged" on the first hand

Also, not perfect examples, but here are a couple old-ish + Really Old tiny parts of studies I did that hopefully show what I'm talking about a BIT better,,
