just trying to find the most reliable information that I can within witchblr. asks are welcome, I will try to point you in the right direction if I'm unsure of the answer. 🌻🍄🍃 Personally, I am oriented around responsibly using the nature around me in my craft and I have many personal associations with many of my local plant life. I do not worship any gods, but I do leave offerings to the local Fair Folk and have a shrine for them. I post about the Fair Folk quite often, but they are a bit dangerous to work with so I recommend researching beyond my blog. I do post information that I don't really use that's for others, as I try to make this blog a reliable place for myself as well as others. I really do strive to post trustworthy content, so please send an ask/message if you see something that you know is false. I follow from macabre-miscellany.tumblr.com

Mugwort in there. For ladies out there. Be careful with it, it helps with your reproductives and can cause you to have your monthly sooner. It is also advised that pregnant women should NOT use mugwort and clary sage for the same reasons. It can induce a miscarriage.

Otherwise, they smell really good and I full on love mugwort, the spa I go to every so often has a mugwort pool and dumping buckets of the stuff was recommended~

For this specific bath bomb, I’ve made it with the intent of banishing what needs to be released from me so that there is space for me to heal and grow again after going through some very toxic situations and relationships.

Bath Bomb Recipe! *Baking Soda ½ Cup *Citric Acid ¼ Cup *Cornstarch ¼ Cup *Sea Salt ¼ Cup *Jojoba Oil 3 Tsp (for this I used coconut oil that I have warmed up until it became liquid) *Essential Oil 1 Tsp (for this one I did a blend of Black Pine, Amber, Lavender) *Liquid Black Food Colouring 1 Tbsp (if you want a richer colour, you can add more later as you’re mixing the wet ingredient to the dry) *Dried Rose Petals, Lavender, Rose Buds, Mugwort (I eyeballed the amount I wanted) *Water (small amount added to spray bottle) You want to put all your dry ingredients into a bowl and mix them together with a whisk. In a spray bottle, add in your carrier oil (Jojoba, Coconut… etc) and your essential oils. Also add in the liquid food colouring of choice. Shake it up. If it seems a bit too thick, add a tiny bit of water and shake it again. You will be spraying this mixture into the dry mixture (only a few sprays at a time) and mixing it. You will keep repeating this until the mixture starts to clump together. The reasoning for not adding all the liquids in together at once is that it will cause the citric acid to fix away completely. Once everything is mixed well, spoon them into the mold and make sure to pack it down tightly. Let it sit in the fridge or freezer to let it harden. When I took these out, they were still a bit squishy, so I had to re-shape them a bit, but they turned out pretty good for a first time try. I’m letting the rest of the bath bombs to sit out to dry before storing them in a container.

Banishment Bath - Love and Memories

Use: Roses are strongly associated with love, passion and memory.  With this ritual bath, it will aid in banishing persistent negative memories that hurt you and repelling unwanted romantic and sexual attentions.

What you will need:

A new moon night

Sea salt

Rose Petals (dried or fresh)

Candles (tea lights work fine and white or black can be used)

Storm water (optional)

Rosemary (optional - for added boost on the memory and purification)

Directions:

New moon cycles are great for banishments and new beginnings, because of this you will want to have your bath on the night of the new moon. Set your circle within your bathroom.  Now you will need to pull out your candles.  The number will vary but you will want one candle per memory or persistent pursuer of you for this ritual.  If you want it to be a generalized ritual, a pillar candle is recommended.  Light your candle(s) thinking specifically about what you want to banish and once that is done, begin to draw up your bath water and turn out the lights so you are left with your candle light.

While you are filling the tub, pour in some storm water if you plan to use it.  The amount is up to you.  If you are not using storm water, put in the salt now so it can have time to dissolve.  Now throw in your rose petals and your rosemary too if you are going to use it.  After you have filled the tub, climb in and soak.  Now is the hard part.  If you are banishing painful memories, you will need to think on them again, how they made you feel, why they hurt so much.  If you are trying to banish and repel unwanted attentions, you will need to think on them and acknowledge why they make you uncomfortable.  Take a deep breath in, hold it and then exhale, releasing the memory with it.  State to yourself that what’s done, is done and it will not change now.  Acknowledge that it hurt and then state that you no longer give it power over you.

When you are finished with that memory (or person) drip some of your bath water onto the candle, extinguishing the flame, picturing it’s influence being snuffed from your life.  Repeat until you have gone through all of your candles. If you would like to sit a little longer in your bath, you may do so and focus on the water cleansing you of what holds you down.  Get out of the bath when you are ready and do a bit of self care.  :3

Vanilla Anti-Anxiety Bath Spell

Vanilla is best known for bringing love, sensuality, and seduction to one’s life. However, it can also bring peace and comfort.

What you need:

  • vanilla candle
  • vanilla bubble bath or a vanilla bath bomb
  • vanilla tea
  • vanilla lotion
  • calming, instrumental music (optional)

Prepare a cup of vanilla tea to your liking and pour a nice, warm bath for yourself with the vanilla bubble bath or bath bomb. If music is desired, play it quietly. Get in the bath, light the candle, and chant:

Stress and anxiety, Melt like this wax. My tension and troubles, Fade to black.

Drink your tea as you soak, and allow the comforting vanilla to melt away your anxiety, just as the candle melts away.

When finished with your bath, blow out the candle, drain the bath, and generously apply the vanilla lotion to your skin in order that the calming effects of the vanilla may linger with you throughout the day and night.

Self Love Bath

It’s important to remember that you are loved. By the most important person there is: you, of course! If you need a little help with the loving-yourself part, this bath will definitely do the trick.

  • 2 Parts Epsom Salts
  • 1 Part Himalayan Pink Salt
  • 3 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 1 Scoop of Coconut Oil
  • Optional: A handful or lavender buds or pink rose petals

Draw your bath at the temperate you like best. Epsom salts will help relax your muscles while the coconut oil softens your skin. Let the aromatherapeutic benefits of lavender lighten you, and the pastel pink himalayan salt will hold in warmth and happiness. What can I say? You’re lovable!

Bath Magic: Where to Begin

Hey y'all, C here. Today we’ll be talking in depth about the practice of bath magic.

If you look around most traditional parts of the magical community, you’ll notice that bathing for ritual work or spell work is a fairly common practice. So what do I mean when I say that I specialize in bath magic? For me, bathing and witchcraft go hand in hand, and I do a ritual in the bath once a month at the very least. I’ve always loved the serenity and focus (not to mention complete selfishness) of taking baths, and so as I’ve grown into my craft it seemed like a natural place to draw magical energy. I find that the hot temperature of the water makes it very easy for me to get to a trance-like state (if not outright do trance work) and being naked in the water gives me a great place of vulnerability and rawness to begin any kind of spell work. T and I also use bathing in our shared craft to begin most of our major rituals, and that entails doing a cleansing bath with a special kind of locally made bath salts that we have been using since the very beginning.

So what do my bath spells usually look like? To be honest, they vary a lot based on my resources at any given moment and the purpose of the spell. There are some things that I do every time such as:

 • dedicating the bath for myself by placing a talisman or crystal (or other object I carry a lot/feel represents me) on the rim of the tub

 • placing candles (often in corresponding magical colors and scents) around the tub and bathroom to add to the magical energy of the space

 • making sure the water drawn is hot enough to remain warm for 40+ minutes and get me to a trancing state but not too hot as to burn my skin or make it uncomfortable for me to be in the water

I also put something into the water every time I do bath magic, and in fact that is where I believe most of the magical intent is decided. This also widely varies with the type of spell. Some things I’ve done are:

 • just throw in a handful of Epsom salts for a super basic cleansing. I also use these (in addition to some other ingredients) when I’m doing a real trance or astral travel or trying to communicate with a deity because they make me feel floatier in the water and therefore easier to forget my body

 • put in a few drops of different kinds of essential oils based on their magical associations

 • drop in some tea bags (like mint or chamomile or bags I’ve already used first for drinking) while the water is running to get a good infusion

 • use bath salts that already have essential oils or herbs (or even glitter!) in the mixture. I use bath salts that I make myself, that T makes for me, and store bought and locally made mixtures, all with good results. It all depends on what I’m feeling at the time.

 • use pre-made bath bombs, melts, and bubblers from Lush (although I’m sure one could use stuff like this from anywhere) based on the ingredients and names of the products. I’ve used Sex Bomb for a glamour and sex spell, Space Girl for glamour and deity exploration (I do a lot of glamours), etc.

The practice of bath magic is great because we live in a society where bathing itself is so culturally charged to be reflective and purposeful. For that reason, it is also a great way to practice your craft that is not suspicious, or questioned by people you may live with. Even at their worst, taking long baths appears only over-indulgent. But I can live with that.
