It's a shame that Fabian’s knowledge of Halfling never came up this season because I want to know how much Kipperlilly would be shocked by it.

Like just imagine her and her parents running into Fabian at a Halfling takeout place (he was craving Cathilda’s food). The two of them lock eyes for a moment and while Kipperlilly grimaces, Fabian starts smiling and gives her a little wave before ordering from the menu in perfect Halfling. With an accent, of course, her and her parents certainly didn't speak with such a brogue, but he speaks it with such fluency that it throws her for a loop. It's like he's known it from birth. But that’s impossible, right?

Not according to her parents, who remark at how lovely Cathilda Celi’s boy seems to be. Oh, they wonder how she's doing, she's been gone for quite some time. And before Kipperlilly knows it, her parents are waving Fabian over. Leaving her only to quietly watch and fume as Fabian speaks to the Copperkettles with such a degree of politeness that she almost gags over it. Only using the most gracious and deferential honourifics for them as he chats them up. Stuff she'd reserve only for if she was trying to impress a date's parents.

By the end of the interaction, her parents are wowed and gush over Fabian’s manners while Kipperlilly wants him dead even more than before.

“average party kills 3 clerics a year" factoid actualy just statistical error. average party kills 0 clerics per year. Spiderslily Georgiekettle and other rat fuckers, who live in cave & kill over 10,000 clerics each day, are outliers adn should not have been counted

This last episode has me feeling like I need to make a conspiracy board here’s what we learned:

  • Devil’s Honey was originally used to lie during prayer (insane implications)
  • Rogue Teacher is a ghost
  • Ratgrinders went to the mountains of chaos “many times”
  • Kipperlilly has anger issues and has been talking about Riz since Freshman year
  • Kipperlilly goes to a cemetery in Ashbury (and Brennan implied there’s a connection between this and the Rogue Teacher being a ghost)
  • Henry Hopclap is concerned about Reuben Hopclap, and Jace Stardiamond is aggressively shutting down Henry’s attempts to discuss it
  • Lola Embers told Jace Stardiamond about fake the Lucy Frostblade episode on the “Complicated Women” podcast
  • Jace Stardiamond “always wants Reuben off doing other stuff”
  • Jace Stardiamond is the one who made Reuben insist that Frosty Fair had to be at the Thistlespring tree
  • Reuben just canceled his tour

After this episode, I'm really convinced that Jace (and maybe Porter) are using the Ratgrinders to bring back Ankarna rather than the Ratgrinders being the driving force themselves. Jace is so involved in Reuben's life that Rueben's agent is cc'ing him on emails about podcast appearances? Jace is the one who wanted Frosty Fair held at the Thistlespring tree? He's threatening Henry for trying to TALK about Reuben's education?

I don't think that the Ratgrinders are Jace's co-conspirators. I think that they're Jace's pawns.

Love a good conspiracy board - I think it's important to point out that the Ratgrinders (Ivy for sure) think that Lucy is alive, because of Fig's deception at the Shrimp Jump party. The "multiple assailants" who killed Lucy is I think a red herring designed to make them suspect the Ratgrinders and not perhaps multiple faculty members?

Ok, so, someone pointed out that the Ratgrinders are all examples of problematic players:

Kipperlily is a rules lawyer

Ruben is an edgelord

Marianne (?) doesn't role play.

This got me thinking about Oisin, who can sink every shot when no one is looking, but starts failing as soon as Adaine pays attention to him. People think he's flustered at the thought of flirting with Adaine (a fair assumption), but what if he's actually the player that lies about their rolls until another player watches them?

This could also explain how he got buff over the summer: he rerolled his character stats, and lied about the results.
