I LOVE EM SO MUCH

when an author sets up a narrative choice where all the options are scary and bad and the protagonist chooses kindness and it changes everything because it opens doors that shouldn’t be possible and every single time i go FERAL

Similarly, the slow reveal that the protagonist has been spending their life gaining favors and making friends so that in the end a bunch of groups and people who should be enemies come together to work for the greater good and end up forming more peaceful relations in the aftermath YES
