I thought I would continue this little cycle of reccing fics every month! Thanks for all the love on the month of January– you can find it in my pinned, along with my own writing.

Summary: The first time it happens, Jaskier is certain he’s misheard Geralt terribly.

“Honestly,” Geralt’s saying, as he stomps off, “It’s like you’ve got no sense of self-preservation! That was reckless and foolish. Are you trying to die, liebling?”

Jaskier draws up short, even his hacking coughs pausing for a moment. Surely he’s misheard that. There’s no way.

5 times Jaskier doesn’t understand Geralt’s use of them, and 1 time he finally does.

Summary: Out of the blue on a coffee date, Jaskier starts wondering aloud if he’s really being honest with everyone about his gender. Geralt struggles to help him realize it’s not dishonest to give people a quick and easy truth rather than explain every bit of who he is.

Summary: Over winter at Kaer Morhen with Ciri, Geralt realizes that he loves Jaskier, and has for years. Everyone at the keep decides the only logical thing that can happen is that Geralt court and wed Jaskier. But Geralt wants to do it properly. So the strongest, most fearsome warriors in all the land, research how to woo a minor noble and send Geralt back into the world with elaborate lists and a game plan. And it all is going great. Courting turns out to be a lot easier than he expected. He and Jaskier will be married well before the return to Kaer Morhen for the winter! Jaskier is thrilled to have his best friend back, and be off adventuring again. Geralt is behaving a bit oddly, but well, people get weird sometimes. 

A fic where Jaskier is the romantically clueless one. Just because he sings about love, doesn’t mean he’ll see it - even when it is Witcher sized and holding flowers right in his face.

Summary: Two years after a car wreck cost him all of his memories, Julian had settled into his new-not-new life and was content enough. A boyfriend of five years, his doctor, and his job at the Blue Mountain Nature Center -a lovely little place just outside of the city and not far from the Witcher’s Keep- made for a nice life. Or at least a more or less decent one. Sure he felt like things were missing but, as Valdo and Dr. S said, of course he felt like that, he had amnesia. A little excitement every now and again helped. Like the new visitor at the Center. And this other new visitor. This one too. A little excitement every now and again helped. And so did getting to pretend that he was important enough for it to be purposeful when these Witchers and Witches seemed to seek him out to chat.

Meanwhile, in the nearly three years since Jaskier’s kidnapping and presumed murder, the Kaer Morhen family had had to accept that the musician’s fate would be an ever painful mystery they couldn’t get answers to. And a question about taking care of Lil’ Bleater didn’t seem like the type of thing that would change that.

Summary: Geralt has now been officially divorced for longer than he has been married. Eskel and Lambert celebrate by buying him a session with a professional cuddler named Jaskier. Sometimes a little human contact can change everything. 

Summary: “Yennefer and I are getting married.”

Jaskier is notorious for being bad at keeping secrets, but there has been one he has been keeping under deadlock for years now: he’s in love with Geralt, his best friend. Not only that, but his twin sister Renfri has fallen for Geralt’s girlfriend, Yennefer. So, when Geralt and Yennefer announce their engagement, the siblings are devastated and decide not to show up at the wedding. Now, if only Jaskier could say no to Geralt and make this whole thing easier for everyone involved.

Summary: “Julian,” his mother interrupted before Jaskier could reply, “if he wasn’t trying to assassinate you, why would he be climbing in your bedroom window?”

“Well, you see,” Jaskier was flustered.”Geralt is… Geralt and I, we, uh… That is to say…”

“We’re engaged,” Geralt interrupted at the same time Jaskier stammered out. “We’re lovers.”

“Engaged!” His mother sounded delighted. “Oh, Julian! Why didn’t you tell me?”

Jaskier was giving a look somewhere in between incredulous and thinly veiled anger - a look that Geralt had never seen end well for the recipient - before he smoothed his face and looked at his mother. “You see, Mother, we had just gotten engaged right before I heard the news about Father. So we decided to wait the appropriate year of mourning before we announced it. We didn’t want to be disrespectful.”

“You could have at least told me, though, Julian,” chided his mother. “You’ve been here for months.”

“Yes, well, I uh, I was waiting until Geralt got here so we could tell you together. Mother, may I introduce you to my fiance, the White Wolf, Geralt of Rivia.”

Summary: When Yennefer announced she had found herself a sub to go exclusive with, Geralt was left with few options but to follow her advice and go to a club to get what he needed. He didn’t anticipate meeting Jaskier who was so very different to any dom he’d been with before. It was only natural that Geralt pushed the limits.

Summary: Geralt has been working on the Pankratz Elite Stables for a few years, spending most of his time with his usual mount Roach. It’s the start of the summer, and as Alfred Pankratz starts intensifying his eventers’ training, his son returns home from college for the summer.

Summary: Jaskier and Geralt have been together now for five months, but there are some things that Jaskier doesn’t know yet about Geralt.

Or 5 times Geralt shows his cutagens and one time Jaskier realises Geralt isn’t even the strangest witcher.
