I am 100% cooler with this knowing that the spear-thrower realized “oops maybe I shouldn’t have done that” and tried to make it right, and that the guy who the drone belonged to was cool with it

sorry i woke up in my rantsona. but like seriously isn't it fucking twisted that every child in almost every country are basically legal property of their parents. like their parents have complete control over where they can go, who they can talk to, which words out of their mouth are truth or lies; they're allowed, encouraged even, to be the sole interface by which the child connects to everything else in this world. like isnt that extraordinary. like how is it a mystery to anyone that children are constantly dying under parental abuse or growing up into utterly dysfunctional traumatised adults. why are we talking about these nebulous narratives of "the unstoppable and nuanced cycle of abuse" instead of looking straight at the reality we've built specifically for this purpose

In reality, populations only rise so sharply as people begin to receive better access to healthcare and maternal and infant mortality in particular decrease. Eventually, as healthcare access is more evenly distributed through a population and people on a larger scale are able to access family planning care, the population stops increasing and levels out and decreases.

I had/have several cities like this in my Minecraft roleplays.

The besieged city just stays there forever behind its walls and well supplied and the infrastructure from the siege just becomes part of the city long term.

this is apparently slowly happening with anything made by another company but distributed by netflix.

they're apparently pulling all dreamworks originals and have already pulled a lot of the ones that are spin-offs of movies. like, they're gone. already. with little to no fanfare.

and that means the original-originals are next, like Voltron, but eventually also things like Tales of Arcadia (Trollhunters), Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Camp Cretaceous, and yes...even She-ra

it seems like dreamworks is trying to migrate exclusively to peacock, but looking at their animation slate it seems like only new slows are premiering there, not the old ones discontinued by netflix.

i also wouldn't be surprised if this ended up happening to sony films that ended up being put out by netflix, like Mitchells vs the Machines or Vivo. not to fearmonger on that one though--there's no concrete announcement of any of that leaving--but animated films like The Little Prince, which got a theatrical release overseas but a netflix distribution in america, have already quietly vanished from the platform. what's next?

yes, it's laughable that voltron is the first on-the-map animated original getting pulled from netflix (talk about bittersweet) but like. the lost media pile is growing at an alarming rate. even if they move the shows to peacock (and that's a BIG if), how soon until they get sacked there? their run is complete. they're old. they're not as popular as they used to be. if it's not profitable, they're not going to last.

anyways, physical media is a blessing and worth hoarding like a gosh darn dragon. or like a giant robot lion. whatever floats your boat

@immaplatypus didn’t mention this, but there’s still plenty of time to watch/save kipo & she-ra, unlike voltron. the dreamworks originals that are on netflix are under contract to be removed 6 years after their final season airs. this means that she-ra will be around until around spring of 2026, and kipo until around fall of 2026.

you can download all episodes of voltron here, and she-ra here. unfortunately, i don’t have an easy way to get kipo, except for torrenting (which i did myself, but the series might be in too high quality to upload, unsure though).

you might be able to ask @lawfully-abiding-citizen to rip it off and put it on mega near or before it’s at risk of being removed, unless they’re busy with higher priorities on a related list of shows to do that with.

This is what I mean when I say that you should always save your faves on a physical external device. I don't care how safe you think your favorite show is on a streaming service, this can happen at any moment without warning. But, if it's on something like a flashdrive, you don't have to worry about this happening. Since there seems to be some time before something happens to shows like She-Ra and Kipo, I'll keep those on my later list but this is abysmal and I feel like I'm going to start to bite people.

Genuinely some of the kindest compliments I've ever received on a piece of my art; I had to reblog so I could thank you!!!! Means more than I can say when people type up whole paragraphs abt something I created. I'm very happy it means something to you. Thought I'd answer your question in the meantime: this was done on a 12x24 canvas, if I recall correctly! So, decently sized, but not too huge (cannot imagine the hell that would be). I spent roughly 2 weeks nonstop working on this I'd say? Put some major crunch time in due to the exhibition it was for being way closer than initially anticipated lol. And I did have to custom color mix all my colors ^^;; definitely took a huge chunk of my time.... but not quite as much as me having to redo a lot of my line art that kept getting painted over haha. Fun fact for you! The blue background is actually just the initial wash i had planned to put over everything! I planned to go back over it fully, and thicken it, but winded up liking the wash look too much so I kept it. Thank you again for being so nice
