"You know, Wylan, one of these days I'm going to stop underestimating you." There was a brief pause and then, from somewhere up ahead, he heard Wylan say, "Then you're going to be a lot harder to surprise."

SHADOW AND BONE | 2.03 “Like Calls to Like”
book wesper is your first pet that you buy and it’s elegant, wise and regal. it’s name is something relating to that of a greek myth and it demonstrates just how strong and independent this animal is and the respect and love you hold for it, this animal would die for you and you would die for it, it makes you understand why certain religions bow down to these creatures and worship them so heavily
show wesper is the rabid cat you found on the side of the road one day and name Keyboard McKeyboardson, will throw themselves out of the five story building if left unsupervised for more than 5 seconds and is one sneeze away from having a heart attack but you will defend that scruffy, violent animal to the ends of the earth and if anyone tried to hurt it you pull a knife-
book wesper: this is reginald, he's a purebred doberman haversham, he cost $2000 and we were on a waiting list for three years to get him
show wesper: these are my babies chonko and fuckass, i found them in a dumpster and i love them more than life itself

I didn't even like wesper or Nina really😭
That's understandable!
I will say for me, Nina was one of my favourite parts of the show, but I get why it's not the same for everyone. Her character was very centred around her relationship with Matthias and it did get annoying at times. BUT, she was honestly a joy to watch? I think Danielle did a great job with what she was given and I think she tried (and succeeded) to embody as much of Nina as she could. I loved her dramatics, I loved her humour. And one of my favourite dynamics from the books was Nina and Kaz's and I really REALLY loved what they did there, so I can't really be too mad.
And with Wesper, again, I completely understand. They jumped straight in with them just being Wesper and we didn't learn a lot about their actual characters. However, I thought their relationship was a lot of fun and, like Nina, a joy to watch. It was rushed and it was done very very differently, but can I say I didn't like it? No I cannot. I loved them despite it all, but I get why people are mad.
Honestly, the writers have pissed off everyone one way or another this season and idk how they managed to fuck up this badly
wesper are the warm, soft blanket of safety within the kanej pain and suffering
I KINDA LIKE YOUR FACE???? I KINDA LIKE YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!!!

Kit's "Slay today" vs Jack's "All mourners. All funerals" when asked to come up with a new motto for the crows is so "I'm not big on killing unconscious men" "We could wake them up" of them
SHADOW AND BONE (2021—)
"Careful is something you learn from losing your fingers."
No, Jesper. Careful is something you learn from growing up in a home where you have to think through everything you do or say. Careful is something you learn when your father has high expectations that you struggle to meet, no matter what you do. Careful is something you learn when you're consistently called useless, and you have to put 110% effort into everything you work on, to try and stop hearing it and believing it. Careful is something you learn when you're Wylan Van Eck.
Listen, I know it isn't going to happen this season, but I need to say already that I'm in no way prepared to watch Jack Wolfe's Wylan in that one scene. You know the one I'm talking about right? You know... when Wylan sees his [redacted] for first time, after years of thinking that she was [redacted]. And he goes outside with Jesper and he just... y'know? Ya'll know the scene I'm talking about? Is anyone ready for that? Because I'm sure as shit not.
