they're just such cute names! as someone old enough to remember when fandom didn't just desperately mash every name together for a ship, i wish fandoms put more effort in these days because most shipnames are dire. sometimes, like sundey or karadox, it works in terms of vibes and actually making sense. but most of the time it'd be better to either use descriptors or just the X/Y format.
I feel you. And without much thought put into the ship name most of these function like X/Y anyway (reign/corp, guardian/corp, mon/winn, etc.)
Otherwise, as someone who enjoys word play and semantics, I really do enjoy the portmanteau style!
To give a name to something is a beautiful and rare little opportunity, and when it is formed in a way that says something about the relationship or the group it will come to refer to, to me, the other more monstrous frankenwords are worth tolerating.

I think they’re probably the best ones in the fandom (although granted, as the person who thought of “Sundey,” I’m very biased.)
Karadox like “paradox,” given the time travel element.
Sundey works on several levels with sunshine, the Supergirl air day, and a large, beautiful ice cream treat.
Ultimately I think they benefitted from smaller fandoms that allowed a meaningful name to develop before something worse caught on with too many people (looking at you, “Supercorp.” ;) )
