Quedlinburg (2) (3) by Michael Maack

(1) Photo from 1990. Nikon FM2/28mm/1.8. From the archive of the Quedlinburger Zeitung. There were ca. five motels in the whole country, one was in the City of Quedlinburg. After the fall of the communist regime in 1989 and the German reunification 1990 the motel closed and later it was demolished. (2) (3) Until November 1989, a communist regime had the power. When I took the photo for my local newspaper you can feel the lack of daily goods everywhere. Also at the gas station. It was still the country named German Democratic Republic. The document is part of the archive of the former Quedlinburger Zeitung. My camera was a Nikon FM2/ 28mm/ 1.8.
