(1) A church called Timiou Stavrou on the E4 hiking path on the south side of Crete. It is an amazing hike best done before or after mid summer. This is just before the village loutro, you can only get to this village by boat or walking, so no cars. (2) Saw this lady find shade in an ancient olive tree stump. Summer came early here and during the heat of the day they try and find shade where ever they can. This area was full of alive ancient olive trees. A local told me they are more that a 1000-1500 years old. This tree came to its end but is still giving shade! (3) This is Lasithi Plateau, the birth place of Zeus is here in a cave to the right of the picture up in the mountains. Usually those mountains are full of snow this time of year, this year only a few tiny patches of snow can be seen.

(1) This is in the south of Crete. It is called the Holy Gorge. A great place to stop for the pirates in the old days. If you find yourself in the south of Crete pay this place a visit. Most winters it has water gushing down the gorge. Not the last 2 winters. Crete, like many other places is short on rainfall. (3) Walking through the Kroustas forest in eastern Crete I met up with Billy. He was as curious as I was. (4) I love baby goats. They are always playing or exploring. This one found a salty rock to lick.
