“If I Could Be With You...” by Gene Kelly
This rare track was featured by the great GK fan, Sue “Aunt Suzy” Cadman on her Gene Kelly website (which sadly was taken down after her death a few years ago).
It was a song Gene liked to sing for his famous (infamous?) Hollywood parties in his earlier years there. So I added clips from mostly the 40s & 50s, when he partied more, with a few from 60s & 70s. I focused on his love of sports and friends & family
Many thanks to @loveaffairwithgenekelly & @technicolor--dreams👏💙👏 I used quite a few of your clips and pics.
This also serves as a tribute to Sue, just a fan trying to do something special for a man she loved and admired so much. You know you’re a good fan (and researcher!) when biographers start coming to you for info :) And I’ve heard of her generosity to fellow fans, tho I came along just a few months too late to contact her myself.
RIP “Aunt Suzy” 🤗💜😇

Gene Kelly & Rita Hayworth in Cover Girl (1944) set to Chris Isaak’s “I Wonder”
I guess it reflects more about Danny’s POV as he (Gene Kelly) is heartbroken about losing Rusty (Rita Hayworth). And I always loved Isaak’s melancholic tune.
