“male loneliness epidemic” and “friendzoning” are similar concepts to me in that the conditions they describe are literally experienced by everyone at some point in their lives but when its men its some sort of profound injustice that needs to be rectified by checks notes giving them unfettered access to the public good that is Women
where's that "was anyone gonna tell me" meme when you need it because holy shit did the bird app just slap me in the face with this
(and yes, it's real and terrifying tbh)
because you shouldn't take some random tumblr user's word for it:
People in the notes saying this is a good thing like there aren’t millions of species native to the Sahara that can’t survive with that much rainfall.
Fuck global warming.
Deserts are not able to absorb large amounts of rainfall quickly BECAUSE DESERTS AREN'T MEANT TO HAVE THAT so when you hear about a desert flooding, understand that the lower threshold means flooding is just as damaging there as it is when your neighborhood floods. It just gets there faster because the desert is going to be much less prepared to absorb the earlier rainfall.
the fact that there are people saying that nature is healing because an entire ecosystem is being distorted like idk it feels so infuriating like idk why dont people know abt their own world people are saying how beautiful and awesome these climate changes have been and how this "dIsPr0vES gLoBaL wARminG" like aaaa global warming actually makes some places snow and rain more because the weather cycle is complicated and everything is interconnected, disrupting something disrupts everything,
from the microbial ecosystem floating above the clouds to the extremophiles living in volcanos and inside the ice of Antartica, to the diverse ecosystem of Mariana Trench and the deepest caves everything is connected.
Sand from the Sahara travels across wind currents to fertilise the Amazon constantly. Everything on Earth is connected and one.
everyone in the world is either a democrat or a republican. everyone in the whole wide world is a democrat and a republican and america is the largest and most populous country in the world and america is easily the most culturally diverse country in the world because the middle class white people in my state (like a little country) are very different than the middle class white people over there (another little country, once more called a "state") and you could never understand how bad it is in america, the main country in the world. where are you from again? it's bad in america and america is bad but the way that america is run is the only way a country could possibly be run unfortunately. i don't like it but it's the only right way for a country to be run and you don't get it because the main victims of the main country are all here and you aren't. where are you from again? they never told me about that place. i don't think you get that real people live in america. probably because you're a republican. real people live in america and real people are hurt by america but what can you do? god said america has to be like this. god said this because god is real so god is american. you don't get it because you're over there and we're all here in america, the realest country in the world. where are you from again? how can you talk like this with what's happening in america? you're a democrat, right? where are you from again? my country is so large it stretches over yours and presses down hard. it's not my fault that they never told me about that place. my country covers the world. you don't understand how bad this will be for real people in the real world, the first world, the only world. they never told me—where in america are you from again?

You see that rough surrounding stone? You can polish it all you want but it'll still be worthless. But there might be something much more valuable inside that you can't yet see. WHISPER OF THE HEART 1995 — dir. Yoshifumi Kondo
