“Hen…” His voice is thick with emotion, raw and unsteady. “I don’t want to talk about it. Not yet.”
She presses her forehead against his shoulder, the familiar scent of him grounding her in the moment. “We don’t have to,” she whispers, her voice soft and steady. “We can just cuddle.”
He doesn’t say anything more, but his hand moves to rest lightly over hers, their fingers brushing in a quiet acknowledgment. The silence between them is heavy, but not uncomfortable. It’s full of understanding, the kind that comes from years of shared experiences, from knowing each other’s heartaches and fears without needing to put them into words.
