"Dying dying burning dying everything dying I killed them I killed them it’s all my fault!" The Doctor sat bolt upright, eyes shut tightly, and then collapsed back against the bed.

Rose bit her lip tightly, grabbing his shoulder. Since they’d started… sharing a bed, he’d had nightmares. Except that he’d probably had them before their… relationship change, and it was only now that she knew about them.

She didn’t honestly know which was worse.

"Doctor!"

He moaned, back arching up off the bed. “I won’t do it! There has got to be another way!"

She hated seeing him like this. Rolling over to lie on top of him, she grabbed both of his shoulders. “Doctor. Doctor, wake up! It’s just a nightmare, it’s only a dream, come on Doctor, wake up."

His eyes snapped open. “Won’t!" he yelled stubbornly. Twisting, he flipped them over, pinning her. He snarled, glaring at her.

"Doctor, it’s me! Rose! Remember me?"

Finally he relaxed, collapsing as he twisted off of her. “Oh. God." Beginning to shudder, he curled up tightly, pulling away. “Sorry."

He didn’t get to do that, not again. Sighing, she stretched one arm over his chest, pressing up against him. “Don’t be. You’ve been through things. If I’d done that, I’d have nightmares too. I’ll always be here. Always."

CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW NINE IS GRABBING ROSE’S THIGH?!

Also the CHANGE IN TEN’S EXPRESSION OVER TIME I CAN’T

And then in season two she’s forced to grab her own thigh because something in the regeneration told Tennant to keep his hands off…

Yeah but here’s the real change between 2005 and 2006: Rose is behind the Ninth Doctor; he’s protecting her as she’s all new to this. And then she’s in the front, before the Tenth Doctor; she’s ready for adventures, she’s in the first line. Character development. And between these pictures, she’s the only one who gets placed before the Doctor as well.

Can we also appreciate that they recreated the Nine/Rose pose at one point, too?  Or... it's more like a combination S1/S2, I guess.
