It happened to be that you left the Eternals long before the rest felt the need. Something just didn’t feel right as you spent some thousand years protecting humanity and regardless of what the others thought or their devotion to the mission, you knew you wanted out.

Druig and you laid beside each other in your shared bed, legs tangled under the blankets while the raindrops pattered against the roof of your new home. New home, new life. A peaceful place to keep safe and away from all the troubles you’d just previously faced.

Now you face your partner laying peacefully on his pillow, his eyes shut gently while he lightly snored in sync with the thunder outside. You smiled to yourself as you closed your eyes with him and begun to drift off to the sound of rain. Every day and night here seemed quiet, but that’s to be expected after living day and night around chaos and ruin of man. The two of you fixed that, now chosen man lay in their own homes here, all just as content as you. You two did that.

Druig woke not long after you drifted away, admiring the sight of his lover slighting drooling with a strand of hair stuck on their lip. You were as stunning in that moment as you were at a formal dinner, or walking about the village to observe, or fighting monsters by his side. You were always a sight to behold for him.

He lifted a finger to drag your hairs away from your face, and a small tickle from a strand woke you. You peered up at Druig, glad to see his smirk. “Didn’t mean to wake you.” His coarse voice whispered as he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his chest, placing a kiss at the top of your head.

“No, I bet you didn’t.” You retorted, breathing a quick chuckle and burrowing deeper into his embrace. “It’s raining.”

“So it is.” Druig replied, seeing a tinge of moonlight come from spaces in your home’s walls. “Calming, isn’t it?”

It was the middle of the night, the whole compound was sound asleep. And you were feeling a bit adventurous. “Druig, come with me.” You whispered, shaking him awake and trailing your hand from his shoulder, down his biceps, and taking his hand.

“What is it?” He asked as you led him out under the moonlight and tiptoed to the nearby lake, leaves crunching below your feet until you made it to the sand. “What are we doing here, love?” Druig asked as you took a few steps forward and slowly lifted your shirt, tossing it aside. “Oh.” He watched you strip down and slowly wade into the water, completely mesmerized by your figure and the gentle ripples you made as you moved.

“What are you waiting for?” You bat your eyelashes and sunk lower into the water, blocking his view. Your lover eagerly dropped his robe and ripped the rest of his clothes off, then jumped in with you as you tried to hush your own laughter. “Shhh, Druig, you’re gonna wake everyone up!” You told him as he wrapped his arms around your bare torso and pressed his body against yours, kissing your shoulder and neck.

“I’ll just make them go back to sleep, you don’t have to worry.” He whispered in your ear. “As far as I’m concerned, it’s just you and me.”

Years and years back, you had lived on Asgard, your proud home full of love and light. You welcomed Kingo, a powerful, charismatic Eternal who seemed to seamlessly fit in to your culture and embraced your traditions. So much so that you forgot he was just a visitor.

You and Kingo clicked, becoming fast friends and a strong team when the battlefield called for it. In all the time he spent on Asgard, there was barely a second spent without you, whether that be sharing your ways, partying, telling tall tales and those of war and triumph, and detailing what your next life in Valhalla would look like.

“Quite fascinating, y/n. I have no idea what’s in store for me after this. Perhaps Arishem will assign me and my estranged friends on another mission.” Kingo explained with a great big mug of Asgardian alcohol in hand, alcohol only few could stomach.

“Well, maybe by then you’ll no longer be estranged.” You suggested optimistically, patting him on the back. “After all, it sounds like your friends were very close, it’s hard to break a bond that strong.”

prompt: anonymous: “Oooh i see you’re taking eternals requests so can we get a Druig x f!reader one shot where reader is an eternal with the ability of prophecy and fortunes (which came in handy because that’s how they knew where the deviants would migrate and stuff as well as when and where they planned to attack) but what happens is when the eternals come to find Druig and the reader at the Amazon compound, they find that Druig and reader have been broken up/separated for a few hundred years- when they’re at the Domo and Ikaris and sprite leave, reader goes with them, but only because she has a vision of Ikaris flying into the sun and wanted to try to convince him to stay because they’re best friends. Jealous Druig misunderstands”

Each of the Eternals had something that made them special, a power that set them apart from the others. Your power was clairvoyance by physical contact and it came in handy a lot during your lifetime, whether that be when you were a team or after you retired.

When you were still battling Deviants, it was your job to wrangle them enough to use your second sight and find out what kind of damage they’d cause, making sure that you could prevent it before it happened. Countless times you’d saved your teammates, curious innocents, homes, cattle, and more by using this tactic, but it did worry your friends quite a bit, especially Druig.

You felt a gust of wind blow beside you, but it hadn’t fazed you in a long, long time. It definitely took some getting used to, though. You moved on with your day and eventually stuck your hand in your pocket, finding a folded sheet of paper stuck within. You giggled and opened it up to find a written note from your not-so-secret admirer, Druig, otherwise known as your boyfriend.

You look quite beautiful today, it read in his neat lettering, and I hope you feel the same. Next time you see me, I’ll be waiting for you with all the affection you missed while we were apart. You felt your heart flutter and hid your smile behind the paper, looking around you to see if anyone had noticed. Druig did this quite often and Makkari found it endearing enough to go along with it. There have been times where he’s gotten your friend to pass notes while he leaves you to your work with the locals, but waits and watches your reaction from a distance, just to see that smile and wave at you when you’re all flustered.

You folded the note back up carefully, intending on putting it in your keepsake box. Now you needed to find your lover, you couldn’t bare another moment without him, especially when he does sweet stuff like this. After a moment’s search, you spotted him helping locals out with their work and you quickly caught his eye, bringing a perky smile to his face before he realized his company and went back to playing it cool. As you approached, he excused himself and met you somewhere in the middle. “Ah, there they are, precious lover.” He reached his hands to cradle your face and neck and he gently kissed you. “You got my note?”

“I sure did.” You leaned back and looked him in his bright blue eyes, admiring his features, lifting your finger to his face and tracing his brows, nose, dimples, chin. “You’re so pretty.” You complimented in all innocence and he chuckled.

“Not as pretty as you, I’m afraid.”

After Druig’s very open argument with the rest of the Eternals—not a call to action, but a cry for it—he paced over to you, letting all of your fellow teammates keep their eyes on him. He got so close that his chest leaned against your shoulder as he neared your ear. “You ought to come along,” he whispered while peering around the room, “you know what the humans are doing is wrong. We can help them together.”

“Careful, y/n. You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into.” Ikaris warned, glaring between each of you and watching you slip your hand into Druig’s, giving him reason to smirk in a sense of victory against the group and lead you out of their poisonous grasp, pushing by the people you’ve always known and out into a fresh start.

“You really think this is the best idea?” You asked Druig, clutching his hand as the two of you walked down the steps and through the calming riot.

Druig and you always had a special connection, that was for sure. But had the others noticed it? Unlikely. The two of you were hard to get a good read on, and you had used that to your advantage. It’s not like he didn’t feel guilty lying to you, he just wanted something real. He wanted to feel like your love was genuine and not out of a lust for power. Humans had a track record with him and he didn’t exactly trust them, but he was working on trusting you, he would tell you. That’s what he told himself, at least.
