End of an Era
Leaving Hogwarts was a big deal. Seven years had been spent walking the same halls, sleeping in the same beds, and seeing the same faces every day. Everyone had their fair share of worries, whether it was jobs or family or accommodation. Sirius had always dreamed of living in an apartment with his friends, but as the weeks at Hogwarts drew to a close, the idea became ever more daunting. For starters, Sirius had no idea what he wanted to do. He didn’t want to work at the ministry, or become a teacher. He didn’t particularly want to be any kind of healer, or work in a hospital, so what else was there? Bartender? Shopkeeper?
“At least you have the choice,” grumbled Remus. Sirius had been agonising over his future for the past few days and Remus had tried to help, but he was clearly growing tired of Sirius complaining about his choices, when he didn’t have any himself. “I would have liked to be a teacher, but that’ll never happen.” Sirius walked over and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend.
“You would have been a great teacher,” he assured, kissing him on the cheek. Remus smiled lightly.
“Thanks.”
“Besides,” Sirius continued. “You can always work in the muggle world.” He suddenly gasped as a thought came into his head. “We can work together! We can work in some muggle club, and party every night!” He grinned as Remus raised an eyebrow.
“Is that really all you want to do? Party?”
“Of course! No one parties better than me.”
“Speaking of parties,” interrupted Marlene, from the armchair next to them; they were all sitting around the common room, rather aimlessly. The last days of school were making them all feel a bit clueless. “I’m thinking of throwing one on the last day. Everyone needs loosening up, and we might as well go out with a bang.” Everyone agreed almost instantly. It was inconceivable for them not to have a party, especially with Sirius around.
