Thank you for the tags today @thewholelemon, @monbons and @fiend-for-culture. I wasn't going to post today, but I'm running on five hours of sleep, was in meetings all day, and I could use some joy. What is more joyous than these two staring at me while I work?
And I realized: I've finally reached the chapter where they wear these outfits! These dolls are, of course, @monbons creations. I know she already shared them on tumblr, but they are brilliant and precious and worth re-sharing. I LOVE THEM.
Here is a little snippet from chapter 6 that features Niall's fit. This one is for all my fellow fashion nerds. 🩵

I look over at Niall who is examining his outfit in the mirror on the back of the door, adjusting his collar and smoothing fabric over shoulders. He’s wearing a white turtleneck under a heavyweight, long-sleeve polo with thick blue and white rugby stripes. It has a hand stitched crest of some non-magical boarding school’s crew team on the right side. The shirt is another one of his charity shop finds. It’s posh as fuck. But on him, it looks fresh and sporty and unexpectedly subversive. The juxtaposition of Niall’s lanky, bony limbs in the preppy style unlocks something wild and ravenous inside of me. It alters my brain chemistry. I can’t stop staring. Tonight he’s tucked the layered shirts into a pair of white shorts that show off the length of his legs, and matched with white crew socks and white canvas high tops. His hair is a mess of copper waves, and he’s been sipping off my bottle of bourbon, so faint stripes of pink curve along his cheekbones.

Okay, but please appreciate the exquisite sewing details of this shirt. @monbons made each stripe individually! And the stripes perfectly line up. Sometimes, when I'm feeling really stressed, I'll just stare at the perfect lines of this shirt because it's so gd soothing. Also, his hair.
