Go violets last evah show-  youth week thing, queen st mall 

So to cut a long story short Last weekend for my pre birthday  parti (which was thursday btw you can buy me cake now)  i made a trip to my old (and soon to be home yet again) city Brisbane to see family and fortunately for the  last time got to see Go violets who were a gr8 Brisbane  grrl band and have a sound that is most reminiscent of vivian girls, la sera,creed, nickelback, n sync etc anyway, it was a fairly emotional set for the one they call 'hazza' and i was feeling those feels also, but anyway they played all the greats from the heart slice ep (i don't have a setlist  but i remember josie, teenager, wanted etc all da hitz basically) and they displayed how equally awesomely talented they are by swapping instruments and being just as gr8 at each instrument and they finished the set by covering THE GODDAMN POWERPUFF GIRLS THEME, which proves how awesome they were and it was played very energetic like i was expecting mojo to rush on stage and try to pwn them, with his sass. Anyway as molly meldrum would say (Except i'm not molly as i'm not a dickhead in a dickhead hat) do yourself A FAVA  & go buy heartslice, some stores have some left and you can  find  harriet aka hazza and ruby doing their thing in  Babaganouj  and Alice in Tempura nights. OH eves and asta played but i had many vodka's and beers  following and can't really remember much IDK you aren't my mum rack off m8 ....FIN

Keep on forgetting i get to (after two failed attempts due to lack of money due to wil wheaton and lack of patience in the sydney one in June ) to meet a weasley  well two of them to be exact in November , oh and Evannah  Lynch  in like a month and a bit in Melbourne with strax and his gang (aka jenny and madame vastra) good time to be a potter-vian, very glad  they are home in Brisbane Melbourne also, had enough of u Sydney

After months of searching finally found the tour poster for the first ever time i saw them, slash the first Ever Australian tour, the date i first saw them isn't actually on this poster it was a afternoon with Ben and Chris at rocking horse records in Brisbane (the old shop upstairs which is now a kink/sex shop last time i checked), i hadn't really heard much of them aside from some friends interviewing them in zines and told me i should come along, there was less than 100 people there and they introduced songs from transatlanticism as 'new songs we've just written' pretty sure it was Jason's first tour or one of the first also, after the acoustic set got talking to Ben & Nick as this was when they didn't have 02392039209 people wanting to meet them and they put me on the door for the full band show. I'll do a full wrap up later this week as last week it was ten years ago. Note there was a bunch of annoying sfk fans who couldn't wait for them to end and talking over them, i'm sure they are type of people who sing over i will follow you into the dark and annoy me to no fucking end every death cab tour.

First ever time  i saw them  around August 2003 , it was similar to this it was a acoustic set in the old rocking horse records in Brisbane which is some sex shop now or something   and has less than 100 people there and was pre transatlanticism  and they introduced this as 'a song we've just written' and saw them for free later that night via the guys, just started talking to Ben and Nick  and they chucked me on the door for the show (they were supporting something for kate) and played to a bunch of uninterested bogan esque people,  who'll now probably claim i will follow you into the dark is the best song evah. Ten years later and i've seen them fifteen times and am on first name basis with them and on the door every damn tour, good times. Oh for the acoustic set they borrowed guitars from Kate and Ross of iron on, Kate of course is now in An horse and bffl with tegan and sara.

some way heinous news today, Matt 'fundy' Funderburk of lydia and maria's new band bears of manitou died last night/this morning  When they toured Australia for the first time  Matt was by far the best dude and way nicer than Craig and Leighton, they seemed to be more egocentric but he was always chilled to talk about stuff whether it be brand new, doing club shows with circa survive, fellow beard lovers etc and get drunk with.  Even Mindy who never met him as she left lydia before he joined commented on my wall post and said what a great dude she heard he was, RIP

$150 well spent, yep this guy is doing all three.

last time i'll be out in Brisbane in sometime as moving to Sydney in like a week so you should come along and cameras  are a pretty nifty indie rock band from Sydney and major leagues are pavement heavily influenced obvsly, should be gr8.

So anyway this is tuesday, not wednesday hence under a week and Brisbane is easier to meet bands thus meeting the bemis in under a week.
