Gift from the Caribbean Seamstress:
(for the wonderful @thepiratehunter and @oracuelum, because their wonderful creative writing for the POTC RP fandom never fails to inspire me!)
Dear Capitan,
I understand that you are currently courting a witty, charming and beautiful lady in Spain with a somewhat disapproving father. Should you wish to give the lady a token of your passion in the form of a gown, I believe I have a few options in my shop that may delight both her and you when next you meet:
1) Lacy Homage
Reminiscent of your own uniform colours, trimmed with delightfully intricate black lace - dark, yet wistful. Also calculated to irritate her father by hinting at her continued stubborn attachment for you (if such is your wish!)
2: Masquerade Assignation
on the surface, a perfectly innocuous cream silk court gown! But throw on a mysterious veil, hat and a Venetian mask on the top, then this become the perfect disguise for sneaking out of dull Royal functions under watchful parental eyes to meet with the captain (or... Capitan?) of one’s heart.
3) Violets are for Constancy
A more subtle statement, if your lady love’s father might disapprove (or burn!) anything she wears overtly in your favour. Sweet violet was used by medieval French troubadours to represent constancy in their tales of chivalrous love. This soft purple gown will allow your love to think of how love overcomes all odds - time, distance, and even curses.
Should any of these meet with your approval, I will be happy to send them to her.
Your respectfully,
The Caribbean Seamstress.
