  • I'm 50 pages deep in a flashback fanfic about my dnd druid and the bride he lost 20 years ago, detailing their last days of happiness before the world went to shit.
  • Outlining a The Remnant Chronicles fic because I want Kaden to kiss Rafe senseless instead of punching him to the floor. Or maybe after punching him to the floor.

I, Milady

I have often found comfort in storms. Once I believed their rage belonged to me; once I was the flash of lightning in the dead of night, the rolling thunder that heralded ruin and damnation to whoever was fool enough to contravene my patron’s wishes or my own patience.

In which Milady never went away, and tries to be who she once was. Set in Paris, 1638, while the Musketeers are away from their family.

Hi, Anon! First of all, this has made my little heart very warm, so I hope you don't mind that I kiss your pretty head.

Aaaaaaaand with just six chapters to go, which are mostly outlined, I hope that soon! We wanted to post them in March, but both Silver and I have had quite a rough spring with work and life and everything happening too much. We're currently editing chapter 13 of Things we haven't said, as we've mostly written the two stories simultaneously, so hopefully very soon there will be updates on both fronts!

After a few moments, Athos noticed that he was holding his breath, and that his heart broke further with every new sob coming out of Anne. He knelt more comfortably on the rug and rested his chin over her head, feeling how his own voice was but a feeble little thing and his eyes stung with every memory of a life that had never been.

Athos's laughter is soft enough to not echo around the otherwise empty room and, in a show of childishness, he throws a little ball made of compacted breadcrumbs into his husband's direction, which impacts cleanly in the middle of his chest and gets lost beneath the table.

No, I checked up the whole timeline for Arras because I am like that, and I remember my sole intention after choosing that exact siege was to have Aramis mention Cyrano and his poetry to a barely conscious Athos, so you could say that that counts?

Athos refusing to sit down when Aramis tells him to do so is inspired in real people, though. Namely me.

What makes it special is that I wrote it in tandem with @privateerstudies for an awesome person that enjoys all the athamis fluff. What makes it different is that it has three scenes set in our modern world (with single dad Athos and paediatrician Aramis) and that's something I struggle to write when left on my own. But here writing flew quite easily, I remember writing this while Privateer screamed at the other end of the line and I was just finishing a chocolate muffin for breakfast (don't... don't ask. I'm honorary EST for a reason xD)

I love all the modern fluff we wrote but that scene just after the siege of Arras has a special place in my heart (and, wink-wink, I have already plot some stuff to happen around that time, with a pinch of sass and a few cups of pain).

16. Are one-shots really underrated?

I don't think so? I personally find it hard to write them, because no matter what, the moment I think I've finished a oneshot, I have the impending need to add another chapter, and so on. But a nice little one-shot, a slice of life that is contained in a few thousand words? That's beauty.
