If you know of one that doesn't involve feeding it to AI, lemme know lol! I haven't written it yet. I really want to but it's a huge project and I'm already up to my eyeballs in other series I need to finish (Laces for a Lady, I'm looking at you!!).

Probably most of them, lol. The ones I think people will like get no traction, and the ones I think people won’t take notice of often get picked up.

I didn’t expect Gabe & Odessa’s story to get much traction, and I didn’t expect Footsteps in the Snow to have such a small but dedicated fan base at all.

I just thought I'd let you know my brain suddenly started furiously thinking about gabe and odessa and how The Conversation is going to go and I'm frothing at the mouth. I haven't been rereading or anything this just happened out of the blue but I want to let you know your writing got me spontaneously doing this and it's pretty fucking amazing, thank you for everything you do and all the work you put into making such great stories!

Eee, thank you, anon! I'm bowled over by the fervour of your admiration! Drider story will be up as soon as it gets the 'ok' from my commissioner. It's 10,123 words long! I got totally obsessed with it and went way overboard. This is why I don't do commissions often - I always end up going way over what I'm actually paid to write but it's fine if I'm enjoying it!

I want to publish Gabe & Odessa's story (werewolf x human) on Kindle and I'm working up to it at some point, hopefully next year, after the Patreon relaunch has settled down and I'm back in the swing of things. I was also working on an MM fantasy novel over on @weaverofthreads but that fell rather by the wayside for now.

Eh, I'm in two minds about this, and I'm fully aware I come off as a hypocrite either way, so please be gentle with me. Also I'm quite tired when I'm answering this so I may not be as articulate as I'd like.

First of all, thank you, and thank you for asking. I'm deeply honoured that you like Gabe and Odessa's story enough to be inspired to create, so please don't forget that with the rest of this, and take it all with a pinch of salt at the end of the day.

Basically, I want to publish this story formally to sell it as a complete novel (once it's had another full edit and tidy up). I therefore don't want to muddy the waters by having more 'Gabe & Odessa' content out there, even if it's fanfic, which is the main reason I'm not 100% behind there being fanfic of them.

However, there is an interlude from Gabe's POV that I published, and some of Season Two is from Gabe's POV, so I'm also protective of his POV in a way I really should probably just let go of... This is mostly because you haven't really got to know Gabe yet (since S1 was all Odessa's POV), and there are a lot of details about him and his character and backstory that I've deliberately saved for 'Season Two' (and beyond!!💍)...

Thirdly, it was posted by me on here for free, with love, and I'm weird about there being fanfic (i.e. content in the same format) based on something I shared with you just because I loved it. Fan art is different (for me) because it's a different medium, but I don't know if I have any right to be protective over any kind of fan content really... I have a weird and hypocritical line in the sand that if it's an OC that I posted for free as a passion project, it's not super cool to write fanfic for them, but if it's something that's been fully and finally released in its entirety (especially if there's a commercial aspect to it) then it's ok to write fanfic for it??? I have no idea. Basically, you're welcome to write fanfic for it after I've published it on Kindle and finished the project, but not on Tumblr when it's still ongoing?? How weird is that?? Ughh. I hate my brain and my heart. That's the bit I meant seemed hypocritical. I fully support the production of fan content online, but not when it was just 'my random blorbo whom i love and shared for free with you'??

Ultimately though, if you want to write it, I can't and won't stop you.

I'd really prefer it if you didn't post or share it publicly, and honestly it really is mainly because I don't want there to be more G&O content out there that could lead a future publisher to say 'hey, we looked into it and there's G&O content out there, and it's gonna complicate the process of publication..' but also for the other reasons listed above.

Thank you for asking, and since you asked, those are my thoughts on it.

I just read through Gabe and Odessa’s story and it’s so so so good. All the little details, like his eyes shifting color, and how beautifully you described everything! I felt like I was experiencing the scenery with them-I swear I even smelled the pine trees at one point! Also that bit where Odessa talks about so desperately wanting magic to be real and finding some place to fit in unconditionally? I felt that right through my bones into my soul. I just wanted to say thank you for not only creating such an amazing, heartfelt story, but for sharing it with us. Anyway it’s almost four am ‘cause once I starting reading I couldn’t stop, and now I have lots of emotions. It’s an amazing story, and beautifully written. I always feel transported into whatever story you write, and I just wanted to let you know how wonderful I think that story is. 💖💖💖

Here's a WIP of Gabe's POV from the 'between seasons interlude' thing I worked on, as a thank you, and hopefully a treat?

Contents: shifting, pining, mention of mating/true mates, estranged family, and fluff Wordcount: 2957

The shift was already prickling along his skin the moment her little red VW was out of sight through the trees.

Thunder sensed it first, going tense before herding Axel gently away from the metal fence and chuffing at Mia to follow. For once, they both obeyed without question, and Gabe’s awareness of them faded.

A series of tiny tremors skittered through his muscles and he snarled as a frisson of pain shot up his spine. He needed to get out of sight of the main road and into the woods, but each step he took away from the direction she’d gone felt like he was being torn apart. His wolf was screaming at him to chase after her, throwing itself against the walls of his mind in desperation to make right whatever he’d done wrong, and no amount of human reasoning that she had just been there on holiday would placate it. Wolves didn’t understand time the way humans did and he found no way to convince his wolf that this wasn’t goodbye forever; that he’d see her again in no time.  

Her.

Odessa.

His mate.

That did make him pause, with one foot through the front door, the other still out on the veranda.

He’d mated her.

After leaving the city at just shy of nineteen, he’d spent the intervening fourteen years never expecting to mate anyone, and in less time than a single cycle of the moon after meeting her, he’d mated her.

“Fuck.”
