Summary: Katniss Everdeen had made it this far through life without any serious romantic entanglements, there had been surprisingly few temptations. She just needed to keep the course. Peeta Mellark could not fall in love with her - it should be an easy enough task: she’s known to be prickly, sullen, and hostile, her charm had been compared to that of a dead slug. If he thought she was bad luck that would only sour him further once he really got to know her… right?
