The Doctor Who Festival in Sydney yesterday drew thousands of fans from across the country to see Peter Capaldi and to hear from Showrunner Steven Moffat.
One fan gave both men Akubra hats, others got up close and personal with a Dalek -and one man even proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of a Q&A with Peter Capaldi.

The Akubra hats (worn traditionally by Australian stocksman) were gifted to Peter and Steven by a fan named Rachel, who has high-functioning autism. She states that Doctor Who has helped her a lot. “Doctor Who is family”, she said, as part of her presentation during the Doctor Who Festival in Sydney on Saturday.
