Not those times. Not one line! Don’t you dare! It’s okay. It’s okay, it’s not over for you. You’ll see me again. You’ve got all of that to come.
I can’t take you too! You said we’d come back to life. Money-where-your-mouth-is time.
No, you’re never really dead to me, maybe that’s the mystery of us.

Doctor Who
A Christmas Carol
It’s that time of the year again! We are celebrating Moffat Appreciation Day on November 18, 2016. It is Steven Moffat’s birthday and that is a good occasion to show some love for his shows, episodes, and characters. As always, all types of entries are permitted (metas, gifsets, edits, fan art, videos, fanfiction, a short comment…). Remember, every little counts!
We are also organising a Countdown Challenge leading up to the date, to offer inspiration and get the word out. Without any new Doctor Who episodes, we decided on a slightly different approach to the prompts. Here they are:
November 11: RTD Era episodes November 12: Series 5 November 13: Series 6 November 14: Series 7 November 15: Series 8 November 16: Series 9 November 17: Sherlock or other works written by Steven Moffat
November 18: Moffat Appreciation Day!
Pick something you love from each series (or related Christmas/Anniversary Special) and give your creativity free rein, whether it’s about a character, theme, arc, episode, relationship or anything else you can come up with. You can take part on one, on a few or all of these days. Late contributions - however late - are more than welcome!
Please keep it hate-free, do not repost another person’s work, including gifs, and tag your posts #moffat appreciation day (as one of the first five tags). In addition, we would be grateful if you could link back to this post, so more people can choose to participate.
Finally, we will reblog every entry to this blog, so don’t worry about any unpleasantries in the tags - you can simply follow us and enjoy a week of Moffat appreciation. In case you are feeling shy about posting something on your own blog, anonymous asks and submissions are always open.
A reminder that River and the Doctor loved each other a lot
The Doctor: ~always showed up for her when she was diving off rooftops/out of airlocks ~used some of his regeneration energy bc he couldn’t stand to see her in pain ~used what he thought was his last breath to tell her he loved her ~went to fabulous parties with her ~gave her a sonic screwdriver ~MARRIED HER ~gave her pretty dresses, i.e. went into a boring clothing shop for her ~trusted her more than anyone else (see the envelope in “The Impossible Astronaut” ~“see you around, Professor River Song”
River: ~died for him (and for herself, for her own life, but partly for him) ~gave him all her remaining regenerations ~stopped him when he needed it (see “A Good Man Goes to War”) ~went to prison for him, sort of ~comforted him after her parents died ~never blamed him for not knowing who she was ~MARRIED HIM ~was a source of emotional stability ~loved him fiercely and bravely even though she sometimes forgot he loved her back ~“you are loved by so many, and so much, and by no one more than me”
The had their own lives— neither was at the other’s beck and call— but they were always, always there for each other when it counted. He showed her a better life; she took it, ran with it, and made him live up to it.

“Why can’t you just act like a person? Like a normal legal person?”

You said six months. Why did you say six months?
