Tfw you sucking fuck at keeping a convo going

as a writer/artist, this thought just crossed my mind the other day, but i think its the worst pain to experience of having to kill off a character/oc in your story with knowledge of spending so much time developing their quirks, personality, relationships with other characters, and nuances. like idk how real authors do it man because my heart hurts even thinking about putting one of my children through harm. (i guess it just goes to sort of show how much love you begin to develop for your characters)
