Astaxanthin: is a powerful, naturally occurring carotenoid (antioxidants found in plants and alguae) pigment that’s found in certain marine plants and animals. Often called “the king of the carotenoids,” astaxanthin is recognized as being one of the most powerful antioxidants found in nature.

Good points: red coloured (like Nekoma?), cells protection against oxydation, eye health, skin health + improvement of heart heath, cellular health, and the body’s immune system

Docosahexaenoic acid : is an omega-3 fatty acid that is a primary structural component of the human brain, cerebral cortex, skin, and retina. It can be synthesized from alpha-linolenic acid or obtained directly from maternal milk (breast milk), fish oil, or algae oil.

Good points: essential for the growth and functional development of the brain in infants. DHA is also required for maintenance of normal brain function in adults. The inclusion of plentiful DHA in the diet improves learning ability

Conclusion : I still don’t understand why they use these stuff as insults but Kuroo seems to think of himself as better than Yaku (in other news water’s wet)

I’m glad I’m not the only one who searched for those organic compounds and tried to associate them with Nekoma/Kuroo and Yaku

I think I can explain this:

Astaxanthin comes from marine animals yes, but which ‘animal’ exactly? With a bit of research (read: wikipedia) I have found the answer which happens to be… crustaceans (ie, shrimps, krills, etc).

So basically, Kuroo is using a very roundabout and scientific way just to call Yaku a ‘shrimpy’ (insulting his height).

As for Yaku’s “Docosahexaenoic Acid” aimed towards Kuroo, he’s either calling him “fish brains”/“seaweed brains” (since it primarly comes from fish) or he’s referring to that one time during the Nohebi-Nekoma competition flashback where Yaku and Kuroo had that debate about what to eat and Kuroo said fish.

allow me to explain: yaku is a totally ordinary high school student who crosses path with a hot demon from another dimension who came to kidnap / protect him idk, cuz he’s the lost prince from somewhere or whatever 😂 just put all your favorite shoujo manga clichés into it

Twisting a fistful of Kuroo’s sweater, Morisuke stared into Kuroo’s eyes, seeing the eyelashes, the varying shades of brown of the iris, the wet glass of the cornea—and then he wasn’t just seeing the other person anymore but seeing the other person seeing him. He could feel their breaths mingle, he could feel the patterns that Kuroo’s fingers were tracing on his waist, and he could feel everything dissolve into a primal urge that drove him crazy, so he threw every last bit of rationality out of his mind and closed the gap between their lips.

please read it :D :D
