Saw this and had to add something.

Every time the boy speaks his mother tongue, he is punished.

He has no belongings, nothing from home, the things he does have are tiny and easily hidden.

He doesn’t respond fast nor does he speak fast, clearly still trying to figure out not one but two new languages, Japanese and English.

You reach for something near him and he flinches so hard you think he has whip lash.

He avoids the showers, waits to change, looking at people through messy bangs.

And despite being small, under fed and injured, he plays like his life depends on it.

His hard hits, his hidden illegal moves, his body slams. The way he can injure a player and somehow get away with it.

He barely speaks to anyone, doesn’t speak on the court, or in the halls. He is always watching though.

His grey eyes watch everything, every mistake, every play, everything. But he isn’t watching for an analytic reason, he is watching for prepare himself for the next attack.

You watch as he is forced to never speak of his life before. His eyes become dull. You listen as his begs and pleas fall on deaf ears until the become quiet whimpers.

And all you think is “he finally learnt.”

Neil promised Andrew ANYTHING as long as he closed off the goal and Andrew asked him to take his shirt off - the closet is fucking glass
