Rafting Camp.
Before we met the rancher who owned the land we camped near, we would load up inflatable rafts with our gear, usually one raft per person, and float down stream about a half of a mile and find a suitable campsite. Most of the time because of getting off work that day, then driving time, we would arrive at this drop point at about 2:30 or 3:00 in the morning. We would inflate the rafts, load them up, then navigate downstream through dark waters of unknown depths lined with over hanging willow trees which were a favorite perch for Water Moccasins. It was an adventure just getting to a place to camp.
