TW3 | The Last Wish
“Strange… done that so many times, but… it felt like our first kiss to me.”
“It was, in a way. Besides… once you say ‘I love you,’ a kiss has to taste differently.”

Trust me, I'd know - Henry Cavill reading a passage from The Witcher, The Last Wish.
Yen...Nobody’s ever called me that.
“What is truth? The negation of lies? Or the statement of a fact? And if the fact is a lie, what then is the truth?”
But you still keep trying to be one. Making human mistakes. Mistakes a witcher shouldn’t be making.
So that time when Geralt first tries to meet Yennefer while she’s staying with Beau Berrant. Remember when Errdil says to Geralt in dealing with the guards “You know what to do if they stop you. Money opens all doors.”
What does my dumb son do?
Geralt unfastens the purse on his belt while the guy is all “you can’t bribe me!” Geralt: *bashes him in the face with his coin purse knocking him unconscious*
@yocalio can we also add that prior these events Geralt, while taking a piss in the river broke the seal of a djinn and wanted to get rid of it and uttered something in elvish. And basically said: Begone, and plough yourself!
„I know my fate whirls about me like water in a weir. It’s hard on my heels, following my tracks, but I never look back.‟

“People”—Geralt turned his head—“like to invent monsters and monstrosities. Then they seem less monstrous themselves.” - Geralt of Rivia, The Last Wish
"Evil is evil, Stregobor," said the witcher seriously as he got up. "Lesser, greater, middling, it's all the same. Proportions are negotiated, boundaries blurred. I’m not a pious hermit. I haven't done only good in my life. But if I’m to choose between one evil and another, then I prefer not to choose at all." -Geralt of Rivia
So the Dutch publisher (Luitingh Sijthoff Fantasy) of the Witcher books is going to re-release the Dutch version of The Last wish and Sword of Destiny!
Just look at these amazing covers.
I feel like this is a really common question, but what's your opinion on the way Wild Hunt handled the Last Wish mission? I recently read the book and realised its the best love story I've read, and I sort of like that you can get rid of the spell in the game and realise they still love each other
Oh no worries, this is the first time I am getting asked about this xD So yay thank you! :D
Yeah wel The last wish Is a fun quest, if you choose to stay in spirit with the lore/books. Otherwise if you don’t wel then it is lore breaking and OOC on many levels. It is like saying: Yeah all 7 books were fake love, I mean…..nope juuust nope. I get that they needed to implement a simple game choice mechanic thing but this is like really cheap, in my opinion.
But yeah overal a great quest :D. But the fact still stands that it never had anything to do with a spell. Like I stated in a recent ask and i’ll just quote myself here:
“He wanted her to survive, and the djinn wanted to kill her. Since Geralt was it’s master at that moment, he knew the djinn couldn’t kill him. So he made sure to tie his fate with hers. Thus preventing the djinn from killing Yennefer.”

She stood over him in the flickering radiance of the wizard’s sphere, in the glow of magic, amidst the flashes of rays restraining the djinn, streaming hair and eyes blazing violet, erect, slender, dark, terrible … And beautiful
I love you Yen.
You've talked a lot about why Geralt loves Yen, but I've wondered, why does Yen love Geralt? I haven't read all the books, but I've read enough discussions to spoil things for myself. I don't mind. From what I've read though it seems like Geralt is a cheating, whiny, man baby. I know he grows, but it seems like in the beginning he's kind of a douche.
Hello, Geralt is a fascinating man…even though he’s around Yen’s age, even though in a world full of vile men and deeds he still insists on doing what he feels is the right thing, even if that thing costs him dearly. Geralt is a good looking, skilled, intelligent gentleman sure he has faults, but then again no one is perfect. But at the day’s end, Yen wants to spend her time with Geralt because she feels safe, because this man, who had the opportunity to wish absolutely anything he wanted, wanted to save her life, the woman who made him do things for her against his wishes - it was that act he did, of saving her life, that permanently placed him in her heart. She felt a strong emotional reaction to this man who completely selflessly saved her life despite absolutely everything…
