December 15th, 2022: Kyoto’s newest geiko is born! Katsuharu (佳つ春) of Odamoto (小田本) in Gion Kobu is celebrating her erikae! She is the fourth erikae for Gion Kobu in the past six weeks, a sign that business is picking up again after the pandemic. Her kimono features luscious peonies among clouds with instruments of her craft such as a drum and a dancing fan and is accented with a golden obi featuring cranes and karabana ^^ おめでとうさんどす佳つ春さん ^o^! January 22nd, 2018: A day of double misedashi with the debut of Fukuyuri (ふく友梨) of Horiyae (堀八重) in Miyagawa Cho (Left) and Katsuharu (佳つ春) of Odamoto (小田本) in Gion Kobu (Right)! Fukuyuri is the imōto of Fukuai (ふく愛), also of Horiyae, and Katsuharu is the imōto of Katsugiku (佳つ菊), also of Odamoto. While Fukuyuri had been photographed numerous times since she began her minarai period in December, Katsuharu had only really been seen for the first time in public during Hatsuyori on January 13th. Both girls look quite stunning and it will be interesting to see what the future brings ^^ おめでとうございますふく友梨ちゃんと佳つ春ちゃん ^o^! Images courtesy of Real Geisha Real Women and Maru69on.
Surprising Minarai News!
While speaking to an insider tonight I got to confirm a few details about the Odamoto minarai that was seen a few days ago. Her geimei is Katsuharu (佳つ春) and she will be the imōto of Katsugiku (佳つ菊). Her misedashi will be taking place on January 22nd, which is also the rumored date of Fukuyuri’s misedashi over in Miyagawa Cho ^^
