October 11th, 2017: Congratulations to Fumine (文音) of Okatome (岡とめ) in Gion Higashi on the occasion of her misedashi! She is the second of three maiko from Gion Higashi who will be debuting before the Gion Odori, and the seventh maiko in her district! おめでとうございます文音ちゃん ^o^! October 6th, 2017: So, there’s a slight correction on one of Gion Higashi’s minarai’s names. The Okatome (岡とめ) minarai’s geimei is pronounced as “Fumine” (文音) and not “Ayane” as originally thought. The furigana can be seen on her hanameishi and this has cleared up any confusion. I personally liked “Ayane” better, but “Fumine” is really unique ^^ Image courtesy of Kuroinu0702 on Instagram.

October 4th, 2017: Fumine (文音) of Okatome (岡とめ) has her first official portrait taken! Along with this image has come the announcement of her misedashi; it will be taking place next week on October 11th! September 21st, 2017: The second Gion Higashi minarai seen during the Gion Odori photo shoot has officially started her minarai period! Her geimei is Fumine (文音) and she is from Okatome (岡とめ). To show that she’s from Okatome I added in an image of Fukuharu (middle) when she was a minarai that shows the exact same outfit.  At this time her misedashi date is unknown, but it will be at the end of October.
