It’s thanksgiving season in the US which means that, like every year, there’s a flood of articles encouraging you to fight and/or break ties with your family over political discussions. Bearing that in mind, I’d like to remind you that trying to isolate you from your existing support networks is one of the primary warning signs of a cult.

“A girly someone?” Nicholas asked, perking up.
“No, Nicky.” Tokoyami said, tapping him on the head with the morning newspaper. “Someone who might find you a home.”
“Oh.” Nicholas wrinkled his nose and looked back down at his breakfast.
Tokoyami frowned, but pushed on. It was time for this. It was beyond time.
“Nicky, they have some homes you could go to. Good homes. Homes in the country, with schools and-”
“Ain’t goin’.” Nicky said, sullenly.
“You can’t live here forever.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m not- I’m not a proper guardian!” Tokoyami tried to keep an even tone, and found himself almost sputtering instead.
“They always did call you a heartbreaker.”
Canon: These siblings hate each other. They cannot stand each other. There have literally been murder attempts between them. One might be evil.

all the comments on this post are the best out of any I’ve ever gotten but Anakin looking Mace dead in the eye and saying “I had no idea who this child is” might honestly be the best addition of them all
