Kanera, The Rookie AU?
Oh ho ho I had a LOT of fun with this one!! Kanera as TOs at lunch together, as a treat, to me
“Just when I think wrangling new rookies has reached an all time height of chaos and problems,” Kanan grumbled, taking a drink from his lemonade, “I get this kid.”
Snorting, Hera said, “He doesn’t sound that bad, Kanan. Asking a lot of questions is a good trait. In fact, it reminds me of someone I know.”
“Charging headfirst into a crime scene, on the other hand, is not,” Kanan said as Zeb started laughing next to them. “And that’s not the point!”
“It kind of seems like the point, dear,” Hera observed, taking a bite from her sandwich.
Kanan sat back into his chair. “Fine. Well, how’s Wren doing? Does she have any skills, or did her family actually buy her way here?”
Hera laughed. “You know, the first thing she did was tell me in no uncertain terms that she was here on her own merit, and she didn’t want to be treated any differently. And then she took down our suspect in about two seconds. So I’d say her biggest problem is overconfidence, at this point.”
Shaking his head, Kanan said, “Classic rookies. Let’s hope she and Bridger can figure out the right balance soon.”
“With you as his teacher, I have no doubt he will,” Hera told him gently.
Smiling at her, Kanan said, “Right back at you.”
