I'm so emotional by Levi's monologue this chapter. It took us 84 years but it's finally here and all this time I knew it's going to break me. Levi is giving his all to humanity because that's what they always fought for. That's what his comrades devoted their hearts for. His comrades and their goals are still the center of his thoughts and no matter what happens he won't give up on honoring their sacrifice. That's grand, really grand. He's not regretting letting Erwin go and entrusting the duty to Armin because he knew he's going to be the savior of humanity.

It's just so emotional, for this is most likely a death flag for him and again I'm not at all ready for it; however, I'm just so glad we got to see another precious moment with all the veterans dreaming about a better world even though it was just in Levi's imagination. I also love how a special panel was dedicated to Levi's closest and most dear people aka Hanji and Erwin in his life. I still believe he deserves happiness and a life post-war. Idk what Isayama is planning. Levi's story might go everywhere but one thing I'm sure of is HE'S NEVER GONNA GIVE UP ON SAVING HUMANITY AND HONORING HIS DEAD COMRADES.

Easily my favorite Eren moment in the entirety of the manga.

The freedom to choose one’s fate and destiny has always been the foundation of Eren’s character. No matter who you are or where you came from, you deserve the right to choose your own future, and that no force of oppression or power can take that away from you. Here we have a little girl, who all her life has been used like cattle for a powerful mans own personal gain, and has experienced cruelty and unfairness since the day she was born, being told that she does have a right to decide. The right to choose, and the right to be free.

Not as a god.

Not as a slave.

But as a human being

Waiting for what must have felt like eternity for someone to tell her that she is free. For someone to save her.

For someone to tell her, “You don’t have to exist like this. You don’t have to suffer, or be a slave. I’m going to help you, and going to make sure you are free” Contrast to Zeke demanding Ymir to obey him, Eren simply lets her decide for herself what she wants to do.  And in that moment, there was no god, devil, or savior.

Just a small, scared little girl who, after so long, was finally free from her shackles, and chose her own destiny.

I’M HERE FOR THIS DRAMA

Okay, first of all, Hanji’s FACE when she sees the body laying in the grass. She heard the thunder spear go off, so she’s gotta have a good guess as to who she’s looking at here.

And then. AND THEN we get this (as a side note, dude’s got a hell of a lot of splinters)

NEXT we get a bit of Hanji thinking quick and LYING to gun toting soldiers to save Levi’s life

and the face she makes when Floch threatens to check for himself. Girl looks like she’s .2 seconds from murder.

AND THEN when Zeke is resurrected (seriously wtf)

She goes from horrified to fucking DETERMINED in a single hot second. LOOK AT THAT EXPRESSION.

So naturally, Hanji dives in the river, in full view of all the soldiers with guns, in an attempt to save Levi’s life.

Good shit.

My theory has been, for a while now, that Eren’s “mind/soul/whatever” went back to the past to change the future, a future where everyone died.

So if Eren Kruger was really Eren Yeager (or he just received instructions from future Eren Yeager, I’m not sure yet)…

…Eren has successfully saved Mikasa…

…and Armin…

…and now, in order to save everyone else, he needs to “carry out the mission to the end”.

I’m still not sure about a lot of things but I’ve read some spoilers that seem to support this theory… If this is the case, then Sasha’s death must have hit him really hard, if after all of this she still died.

EDIT: You know those theories about Kruger meeting young Zeke…and you know how the fandom is skeptical about WHY Eren would trust Zeke and viceversa, considering how their first and last encounter in Shiganshina was…
Well, what if “grim future!Eren” also got in contact with young Zeke via Kruger and that’s also how Zeke knows A Lot Of Stuff, included who exactly Eren Yeager was and why Zeke looked so shook/hopeful, back in Shiganshina? This is making sense now, but maybe it won’t in a couple of hours, help.

Mmm…
