I want to ask you in the most attentive way that please DO NOT ERASE/EDIT THE CREDITS OF THE ART THAT I SHARE HERE!!!
The art that I share has been with the authorization of the original artist under the condition of correctly crediting each piece of art, not editing, not claiming it as mine, not removing the credits, not trading with their art, among other conditions.
⭐ Oiginal post on my blog with credits:
⚠️😡 Reblog without credits:
For things like these, artists around the world have stopped sharing their works with us, they have blocked people / countries, they have disappeared from the internet and deleted their accounts. They have lost trust in people and stop allowing their art to be shared on other platforms.
sorry theres not a single person on this website id pay to follow idc if we’ve been mutuals for six years, if you put up a paywall we’re done
{ID: an image of Bernie Sanders captioned with text saying "I am once again asking my mutuals to complete the Post+ survey to keep Tumblr free. Post+ is a terrible idea and WILL fuck over anyone who could possibly benefit from it"}
Wait there's a survey where is it?
OH ME GOD TY
GUYS YOU CAN ANSWER MULTIPLE TIMES
You can just copy paste this answer if you want to make it easy on yourselves.
I wouldn't pay for a tumblr feed. That's ridiculous.
My observation: Introducing a paid feed is also introducing an obligation to post content.
Don't like that.
Plenty of people here, myself included, don't want Post+. It's a paid subscription and will cause a lot (more) problems on this site.
What does it do?
- Allows blogs to create paid subscriptions that followers have to pay to see blog content. This can cause a lot of problems, as plenty of people come to Tumblr since it has never been a monetizable website.
- You can't block people who "support" your blog, meaning people can bypass the blocking system to harass blogs, just at a price.
- Creators have other outlets for these services, like Patreon.
- Again, nobody wants to pay for Tumblr posts.
Now, how can you help stop this?
By filling out Tumblr's Post+ survey! This allows you to give feedback about the Post+ system and what you would/wouldn't do. You can use this to directly inform Tumblr that you DO NOT want the "Post+" feature. If anyone has anything to add to this (info, updates, etc) I encourage you to! Keep resources current!
Everyone should know the international sign for Help Me. Let’s make this famous!!
Interesting; I didn't know this was a thing.
It’s apparently a thing, but it’s a very new thing, so it may need some help being known.
go into your blog themes HTML code RIGHT NOW and copy & paste EVERYTHING into a new google docs or whatever you use so you can save it and not have it wiped from tumblrs fucking incompetence at running a website
IF YOUVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS! USE TUMBLRS THEME RECOVERY TOOL
I don't see anyone talking about this yet so I'll start!
I already have 3 blogs on my dash who's account is being used to spam my feed with "adult game advertisements"
This is what it looks like:
I spoke with the artist and she said she can't get on her account again
Important : this only works if you can still access your blog!
Changing your password is important, but it won’t do you any good if your hacker still has an opened session on your blog and can still access it. So the first thing you wanna do is close your hacker’s session.
For that you need to go in your blog’s settings:
On the new page opened, scroll all the way down. There, you can see something called “Active Sessions“. The first and oldest one (”current session” in green) should be yours, the new one should be the hacker’s session. To close your hacker’s session, click the gray X next to it.
Now that their session is closed, they can’t access your blog anymore unless they enter the password again.
So don’t lose time, go all the way back up and change your password immediately. Make also sure your hacker didn’t change your email address.
Now you should be safe from your hacker. But it won’t prevent you from getting hacked again.
If you really want to be safe from hackers, you should turn on the “Two-factor authentification” option (on the same page).
It requires you to enter your phone number, which is a bummer. But if it’s turned on, everytime you wanna log on (so not if your session is already opened, but only if you log off and try to log on again), it will send a code on your phone that you’ll have to enter (in addition to having a password).
That way if someone tries to hack you again, even if they get your password right, they won’t be able to enter your blog without having that code.
There it is. I hope it will help some of you, since I see more and more people noticing blogs being hacked
with light about the massive wave of bot-hacking i’m seeing, please do this and keep your blog and all of your personal information secure!
I was just semi-complaining that I was still looking for a decent way to backup my +6k posts without having to use paid services or even just wordpress (which has an import from tumblr tool that asks for permission to access your blog and also make posts), when I decided to actually put some effort into my google search.
*By which I mean: everything that I have ever posted. Not included: drafts, queue, likes, followers, following, comments, notes, chat.
I followed this method (word by word), and now have a 450 MB folder on my computer with the name of my blog on it containing:
1. Folder “Archive” (contains .html files listed by month) 2. Folder “Media” (contains gifs and images, mine has +1k files in it; might contain also audios but I have no way of confirming that because I’ve never reblogged an audio post from this blog) 3. Folder “Posts” (contains single .html files, each one a post; I have +4k files in it) 4. Folder “Theme” (contains only my avatar, but it might be a matter of if you have personalized themes or not) 5. .html file “Index” (by opening it it will give you the archive of your blog organized by month; clicking on a month will open up the archive for that month, and you’ll be able to read all the posts for that month as if you were on your blog**, except sans your theme graphic, with each page containing 50 posts)
**I can see gifs, links, embedded videos, tags, number of notes (but I can’t open up the notes, clearly), text is also correctly formatted.
So yeah, in case anyone wants a very quick way to back up their blog, it took me less than 10 minutes.
P.S. I didn’t have any issue, but to be on the safe side always check for spyware and virus threats before and after downloading anything.
this is actually really useful if you have an art blog full of years of work that you otherwise no longer have access to the original files. A lot of the art I have in the early days of my art blog are in that boat. I did this process JUST for that reason and I was pretty astonished at just how many pieces of media it backs up! (literally all of it) Drawings I didn’t even realize were sitting in my archive due to having been posted to text posts or undercuts, or untagged for years! It’s worth it if just for that, even if tumblr isn’t shutting down or deleting your blog.
This is Milo. Milo is my only sister and was 21 years old. They would have been 22 in April. Milo was an amazing, wonderful, and kind-hearted person who always did their best to be strong and stubborn. They proved that over the last 48 hours. On October 11, 2018, approximately at 7:08 AM EST, Milo was struck by a car while crossing the street at a crosswalk to catch the bus that would take them downtown. Milo was an animation student at CCAD and was catching the bus to get to class. Due to the accident, they sustained 3 fractures to their skull, both of their hips were broken, one of their legs was broken, their face was fractured, and also suffered from a fractured neck and spinal cord injury. Milo was expected to not make it past 3 PM on October 11 but managed to hang on until this morning. Unfortunately, Milo passed away on October 12 and I am getting to why I am here asking for your help. My family did not have life insurance for Milo and my mother has myriad of health problems on top of now dealing with the death of her child. My mother desperately wishes to bury Milo with my grandparents and my uncle but to do this we need money so we may proceed with Milo’s funeral arrangements. I know the asking price is very steep but any donation is better than what we have which is nothing at the current moment. The police are doing a full investigation and we do not know of what kind of insurance the driver had and if they will be able to cover these costs. We do know we need money up front and soon so we may put my sister to rest. If you can only even donate a dollar it is better than the nothing we have right now. If Milo reaches their goal of 7,000 dollars and goes over, I will donate any remainder to the local animal shelter in Milo’s name. We have two beautiful cats Milo loved very deeply and Milo cared so much for animals, I know that is something they would have liked. The past 48 hours have been extremely hard on my family and I am doing all that I can do to help ease my mother’s pain so she does not have to worry about the costs of burying her child. If you can assist in any way, I appreciate you. Thank you.
reblogs are appreciated
can you guys do me a big favor and go report some of this on twitter? just search lauren montgomery’s name. klantis are talking about breaking her hands at sdcc, among other things.
So idk if others have noticed this before - but it’s the first time I’m seeing this, hence the post.
There’s a website, https://www.photosugar.com, which apparently mirrors all pictures, gifsets etc. people post on their tumblrs (and also other social media sites like twitter and instagram, if I understand it correctly). An eample for a tumblr user, with my name: https://www.photosugar.com/tu/lordhellebore
Now it won‘t turn up anything but a 404 error in my case, because I sent an e-mail to the contact address, which is [email protected] with the title “My content on your website”:
Hello, it’s come to my attention that you are mirroring all of the posts containing pictures/gifs that I post on my tumblr. I am asking you to stop pulling the content from my tumblr and to delete me from your website. tumblr username is „lordhellebore“ Thank you.
I got a reply consisting of the single word “removed” after just one day, and as you can see, it worked perfectly fine with the informal mail I sent. So if you want them to stop mirroring your tumblr, it seems all you really need to to is this.
I can’t test the site for all of my mutuals, but I’m tagging a few whom I found on there by random trial & error, and I suggest you look yourself up if you see this post and dislike tumblr mirrors (even if this one is only for pictures, not text).
@janiedean, @ladytp, @vaysh11, @lunavagantt, @einemelodieimwind, @robb-greyjoy, @youbuggingme, @ysilme, @rex-luscus, @bai-xue, @viendiletto, @electricalice, @contessa-de-leusse, @memetic-mutism, @bluecichlid, @mrs-storm-andrews, @ladymothwing, @prismatic-bell, @kittykatknits, @tinkili
….basically, whomever I’m trying at random, it seems that you’re on there.
Please reblog so others can know and ask for removal if they want to.
So I looked into this, and sure enough. Every graphic I’ve posted or reblogged on Tumblr (on both my blogs) is mirrored on Photosugar. It seems gross and disingenuous to mirror without consent, not to mention problematic from a copyright perspective.
Hey all - while your writing may not show up on photosugar, any pictures or graphics you post or reblog, will. And they will show up without the textual context that accompanies them on Tumblr. In case that matters to you.
UPDATE - You can now have your content removed by going to: https://www.photosugar.com/remove
So no need to e-mail anyone.
If you already sent an email, use the link above. It looks like it works instantly. (I got a reply email back saying to use the link. They are probably getting slammed so automating it was sensible.)
Heads up to my followers, as this is *every* blog I’ve checked. It seems like they have bots to pull content from tumblr, twitter, and instagram. Auto-fill their site with content at no work of their own, and no attributions minus the blog title (and who goes out of their way to search attributions on the internet?)
WOAH I and many of my friend’s blogs were mirrored there!!! FRIENDOS PLS REBLOG AND ALSO CHECK AND REMOVE YOUR STUFF FROM BEING MIRRORED ON THIS SITE!!!
Koogi may not be able to go to Anime Expo this year. :( Why? Because Lehzin is a stupid awful piece of shit garbage company. This is the post Koogi was tweeting about, as well as the post pinned to her twitter. http://porifra.tumblr.com/post/168424485685/rough-summary-on-events-leading-to-lezhin-tax Please, if you haven’t already, read it and spread the news. This isn’t affecting just Koogi, by the way. Other artists that work for Lehzin are being oppressed by them too. The more the news gets out and the more attention drawn to this, the better.
attention all Officials, all Tumblr users, whoever the fuck you are.
This is severely important.
Ever sit down after a stressful day, watch your favorite youtuber, do commissions, etc.? Well in FOUR DAYS, that can all be taken away very easily. We’re so close yet so *far* from possibly saving the internet, and those who’s lives depend on it. Within this blog, there will be a link to a petition to stop net neutrality from being killed. There are many people who’s jobs are online. online schooling. the internet is extrememly important, and we can’t let the FCC take it away! Instead of just merely liking this post, sign the petition and reblog this post!
❣️❣️❣️
IMPORTANT!
There seems to be a virus or some sort of malware going around causing blogs to “send out” chat messages to blogs that they follow asking for help with the purchase of certain items through donations of seemingly small amounts using bitcoin and adds a link to the message.
The message goes as following (at least the first message I got went like this): “Hi there buddy. I need help, I’m trying to buy a laptop and I can’t afford it. I’m about 0.36$ short, and I’d really appreciate if you could help me and transfer some money to me via bitcoin using this *link*.”
The small details in the message seems to have a few variations with the greeting, amount and purchased item showing up in different variations from formal to friendly, from 0.016 to 2$ and from a phone case to a laptop among others.
The blogs that are affected send out the messages to blogs that they follow for a long time mostly, so you are most likely to receive the message from a long time, active follower whose name you might recognize or a mutual etc. The blogs that are affected are not spam bots but actual active followers who follow the recipient for months or years and most likely the blogger who “sent” the message is unaware of the message being sent.
Opening up the link will cause the virus to spread even more and infect your computer/mobile with any sort of malware.
If you have received a message of that sort from this blog please know that it was not sent by me or within my control and ignore/delete the message without clicking the link.
To those worried because they received a message with a wallet code instead of a l8nk, there’s nothing to worry about. Tge wallet code is essentially tge equivalent of a bank account number. So unless you actually go and actively transfer from your wallet to theurs you’re safe. Opening the messages themselves is harmless.
The best way to know if you were affected is to simply go into messages and see if you sent a message like that to anyone, it will appear in the chat.
About a week ago I posted this.
I’ve been getting horrible messages like this in my ask for months, including:
and my personal favorite
After getting the message saying “Just go kill yourself” I was completely done dealing with this person’s horrible messages and replied with just an “Okay.” and logged off tumblr.
About a week later I logged back on with 17 messages in my ask, most of them from the anon. I scrolled down and at first when I logged off, the anon messaged me things like
I scrolled up more and all of a sudden they started sending me more and more messages like
This was extremely surprising to me. I thought “After all those horrible messages you sent to me for MONTHS about hating me and wanting me dead, you say ‘sorry’ and that you ‘cant be responsible for someone’s suicide’?”
But I guess the lesson goes like this:
DONT TELL ANYONE TO KILL THEMSELVES UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED FOR WHAT MIGHT ACTUALLY HAPPEN
DON’T TELL ANYONE TO KILL THEMSELVES EVER.
THIS POST IS SO IMPORTANT I WANT EVERYONE ON TUMBLR IN THE WORLD TO SEE IT
This needs to be reblogged. I couldn’t scroll past this if I tried, I got a message like that but not for me, it told me to my friend to kill them self, I was livid! I didn’t answer it because a message like that doesn’t deserve an answer but I don’t see what is so funny about telling someone to kill them selves! I really don’t! It’s sick and it’s wrong. This person though, I take my hat off to you. You taught that bully a lesson.
this.
This will always be number one on the list of things that aren’t okay
Ho-ly shit.
I’ll never not reblog this
If you dare scroll without reblogging this you have no soul…….. i mean you do but reblogging this wont ruin your blog……. please just spread the word.
Please people don’t send anon hate your just hurting yourselves…
A PSA we shouldn’t need, but we do…because some people are fucking horrible
