Hey, BTW, you looked really cute in that picture you posted of you hugging Jared Padalecki! I hope you're having a good day! 😊😘

Oh, you are so sweet, Anon! Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I hope you're having a good day too. <33333

Hey random question, sorry, but are you BirdOfHermes on AO3? If you don't wanna answer that's fine, sorry again and have a nice day!

I am indeed! It's not a secret, but I basically don't publicize it on the main account since this account is technically connected to my actual published writing. For those who don't know, I'm also Kyoko M., a self-published and hybrid author, so I run a side blog for the AO3 content. The other reason I say I don't hide it is because you can go back through the blog and see my account through the Harry Dresden/Karrin Murphy content that I posted, so like I said, it's not a secret; I just don't advertise it on this particular main blog. If you like my main content (MCU or Dresden Files), then you can follow the sideblog: @lokisbirdofhermes. No apologies needed! Thanks for popping in to say hi! <3

Hello there! Long-time follower, first-time asker. I just wanted to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day, and confess I kind of have a crush on you. You're really funny, and your passion really shows through your writing and your posts. Also, you're really pretty! I'm sorry if this all sounds weird, but I hope you have a good day today. <3

You have no idea how badly I needed to hear this today. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I always feel like an ugly piece of shit on Valentine's Day 'cause I'm always single, and this is the most well-timed kind comment in my inbox ever. Thank you so much for this and I truly hope you have a great evening. <333333

I think Golshifteh is trying to omit some things and not give future spoilers lol... But in that scene where Tyler jumps and saves Nik on the top of the building and that man says "you really care about this woman, now you'll know what it's like to lose someone you love..." there's a lot of evidence that their relationship will happen. Like when Tyler kisses her shoulder when she is crying over her brother's death. So it's a matter of time and from what I've seen on twitter, many fans want Nike happening in the future.

We'll see. I'm too cynical to think it'll happen, but I would like it if it did and I would like it more if they don't Fridge her in the 3rd movie like they did her brother.

I have to disagree with Golshifteh Farahani, I believe something is being written with the characters and I feel she doesn't want Nik to just be seen as Tyler's romantic interest, hence of that they gave her more scenes in the second movie and also why already there are ideas for a spin-off for Nik and her back story . So the chances of her dying in this franchise are inconsistent. But I also think that a romantic relationship between Nik and Tyler has not been completely ruled out, after all the chemistry between them is fire and fans want them together.

I disagree too. I've never agreed with people who insist women become invalid if they have a love interest in an action oriented story. This relationship is very natural and it feels organic to these actors. I'm fine if she insists that the writers leave it platonic, but it's a disservice to some of the fans. It wouldn't be OOC for either of them to fall for each other, imo. But with her being open about not wanting romance, chances of it going Canon are unlikely. Most of the time, unless it's relevant to the plot, the actor can make that kind of call and we're stuck like Chuck writing fics. I hope she at least sees what good chemistry she has with Chris.

I'm blown away by Nik and Tyler and their dynamic. But I've been reading some Golshifteh interviews and she said that their relationship is platonic and that Nik is not just a romantic interest. She said there was a kissing scene in the first movie but it was cut,.... but that they have a connection that involves pain and grief. I confess that I was disappointed with her responses and how she sees Nike. What do you think ?

Oh, not the least bit surprised. There are actors who push for platonic male-female relationships and that's fine. Based on the movie's tone and the fact that it's still difficult for studios (and actors) to accept a handsome white lead and a WOC, I'm more than sure Nik and Tyler won't become canon. It's not about that in this work of fiction. It's probably just gonna be subtext and sexual tension. And we'll be damn lucky if she doesn't die in the 3rd movie. 😒

Really scares me that there are people who believe that Sylvie fought the TVA because she wanted to save the world of a fascist organization (she bombed several timelines in the second episode) and not for her personal revenge, these are the same people who say that Loki was not OCC in the series but they believe that makes sense the God of mischief to make and leave the breakfast in Sylvie's bed in their little cabin in the middle of the woods living in complete peace, harmony and inertia.

Her fucking crusade caused her to torture someone. On purpose. With full knowledge of what it would do to her. I don't wanna hear shit from her fans about what a "hero" she is for standing up against the TVA. Two wrongs don't make a fucking right. It's no different from Loki's constant betrayal and murder attempts at Thor and Odin; yes, they did you wrong, but committing genocide and rejecting Thor's obvious love for you isn't gonna make you feel better or right the wrongs that were done to you. Loki's arc is about moving past his own bullshit and seeing that he was a worthy man all along and he could be more than the villain he thought he was. The series just shit all over any potential for him to learn or grow or even just survive through the TVA's bullshit as well as hers. She did nothing but abuse him the entire time. That's not "uwu enemies to lovers", no, that's someone with fucking Stockholm Syndrome. Nothing about their interactions was likable, organic, or true to his character. I personally don't even consider this version of him to be a real Loki. His reactions from episode two onward were OOC, imo.

I truly believe that Loki is capable of love. We've seen that he is from everything prior to this bullshit series. And it's sad that we're never going to get an in-character Loki with a love story that he deserves. We deserve to see him in a romantic relationship where he is respected and treasured and challenged, like any good romance. I think that's the biggest insult of all with the Loki series--that we had a chance to see Loki in a capacity we haven't seen before and they completely botched it with this abusive bat-faced shrew bitch. There is no love between them; just bad writing. God help us all when season two comes out and we have to sit through another deluge of delusional fangirls insisting Mary Sue Sylvie is a girlboss and Loki is her malewife. Gag me with a chainsaw.

There were so many characters to adapt as Loki's romantic couple, characters that were created at a time with much more sexist ideals and that could receive a better adaptation now, but no, Marvel chose the sick side of a relationship, a romance with a variant of yourself for Loki to be idealizing and comparing the girl to him because she is so much better than he and he will never be as perfect as she, and she will show all that love and superiority by treating he like dirt. Nice work Marvel.

I don't know how it sounded like the right call to make. Other fans have pointed out how in No Way Home, the Peter brigade immediately identified each other as brothers, so why did someone pitch Loki falling in love with himself with a straight damn face and that's what was cut and print for the show? It's ludicrous. And it's somehow made so much worse by the actress they chose; I really think Hiddleston acted circles around her, so it was bad enough on the page, but the execution was even worse. No one bought her as the "better" version of him. Better at what? Being sack-crushingly annoying? Being unsympathetic, short-sighted, and selfish? It's so unwarranted and unnecessary, but since we're the only ones critical of it, I guess it's just fucking fine and we're the outliers here.

With these leaked photos of the second season of Loki everything indicates that the series will follow a rhythm in which Loki no longer has self-love and will be crawling like an idiot for Sylvie even taking a million curses, that is, more mischaracterization, and even worse than what was done in the first season, i would love to be wrong and that everything was just a twist, but now i'm seriously giving up on watching this series.

Oh, I knew from how the first season went that they weren't going to course correct in season two and would instead double down on the foolishness and OOC writing. After all, as infuriating as it is, we're the minority. The whole rest of the audience watching season one were fine with the bullshit writing and because they could project themselves onto the Space Karen and feel "included" since they made Loki like her for no goddamn reason. I'm not watching it and I don't acknowledge the show at all at this point. To quote Brooklyn 99, "You're not [Loki]. You're just some common bitch."

I hate that I have to hate this show, but they didn't make this show for me. We KNOW who this show was made for and since that demographic is irrationally pleased with this shit writing, I'm not wasting energy wringing my hands over it. I have my Loki. I have the REAL Loki. And his arc is satisfying and complete, so I'll just continue writing fanfiction and ignore the series. They can do whatever they want; it's no longer my concern. I'm glad Tom is working and getting paid and getting all the love he deserves. Even though I hate this show, I'm glad he's being admired for the spectacular actor that he is, even when he's doing material that I think is beneath him. As long as he's happy, then there is at least something good to take away from this literal godforsaken mess.

But do hit me up if you find out Sylvie dies at the end. I'd watch that. I'd rewind it 1000x, in fact.

It's just that Sylvie looks like the character Dona Florinda, both physically (the actresses are similar) and in personality, she lives angry and is often very irritating. The character is from a series called Chavo del 8, on televisa of Mexico. I confess that I said this to piss off a fan of Sylki as the character is famous for being angry and when you watch you can see the similarities easy.

Oh, okay. I get it. Sylvie has exactly two settings: self-righteous entitled anger and smug arrogance. And yet people wonder why I can't stand her sorry ass.

And another, Loki needed to be drunk to be interested in Sylvie and still remained without chemistry and forced.

Forced is the exact word. Nothing about that "romance" made any sense. Nothing about it indicated any chemistry between them. I mean, that entire episode had them fighting like cats and dogs and not in the flirtatious way we've seen before in plenty of other examples (ex. Tony and Pepper or Quill and Gamora). The entire time I was stuck watching them on that planet, I interpreted it as a bratty little sister and an irritated older brother. There was no sexual tension and she showed nothing but contempt for him up until that point. She even said after she arrived at the end of time that Loki was probably dead and it didn't matter. Their entire interaction was just her insulting him and using him where appropriate. There was no reason for Loki to get attached to her since all she did was antagonize him and get in his way. Loki shouldn't have had any feelings aside from annoyance. We've seen him build far more believable attachments to other characters in the MCU. I'd believe him and Mobius before him and Sylvie, for fuck's sake. At least he and Mobius had legitimate soul-searching conversations about Loki's life and his behavior.

I just asked this in a CC, but why do Sylkis bother so much about having fans who don't want Loki to date Foña Florinda from the MCU???

Unfortunately, I'm not sure who that is? Could you elaborate a little bit for me?

Hey, I'm a fan that finally managed to put an pre-order for a paperback of Claws of Inferno. I can't wait to read the next book and if it's anything like your other works it'll be great. I can't wait to get my hands on it, and I'm planning on reading your other series once I'm caught up. It's taken me a bit to catch since uni and work take 90% of my time, but I'm excited! Your work and you are amazing, I hope you have a nice day and that life goes smoothly for you. (Also Pete is adorable.)

Thank you. Seriously. You don't know how much I appreciate you and how badly I needed to hear this. I really hope you enjoy it. Bless you.

Umm you and Chris look PERFECT together in your avi. Any time there’s Melanin near him he just radiates! ❤️You’re gorgeous girl! I know he had to have started cheesing and blushing when he saw you coming! 😊

Sorry in advance to my followers because I’ve told this story a million times, but it’s literally the highlight of my sad life: when I hugged Chris Evans, right after the photo was taken and his wonderful arms were still wrapped around me, he rubbed the small of my back before he let me go. I almost died and ascended to heaven right on the spot. I’m pretty sure he liked my Little Black Dress and my bare legs and my high heels. I really did go 100% out of my way to look pretty for him and I take that little back rub as a sign that it was appreciated. Gosh, what a man. That was still the best hug I’ve ever had. I regret nothing.Chris Evans is an absolute dreamboat and I love that he dates women of color. Thank you so much for the compliment, Anon.

I recently read ummm every single dresden files fanfic you've done minus the one shots. I love your writing I love the tone you use I love that I got to read about a character pulling her fluffy hair into a low ponytail. I'm nowhere near as eloquent as you so I dont know how to put into words how many emotions you give me through your stories. You're writing is inspiring and I fell in love with every OC you've made, it thrills me that you have your own series. Thank you for all your hard work

Seriously, Anon, thank you. I’m terribly flattered, and wow, that’s a lot of fic, so you’re quite the trooper! I appreciate you taking the time to give me such lovely comments and I hope my writing continues to entertain you.

what do you think makes a great character? like what should a character have? like what characteristics?

I think what separates characters from good characters and good characters from great characters is the level of detail. Whether evil or good, if you can write a character that feels authentic and if they feel as if they have their own lives, independent thoughts, and belief system, then that is a great character. It’s a challenge to write a fictional person as complex as a real one, and that’s why I’m always excited to read or watch great characters–it means someone out there succeeded in honestly one of the hardest things to do in fiction.

I also think what makes a great character is one (or more) human element. When I say “human,” I mean an element that you as the reader or audience can connect with personally. If you understand them on a level that goes beyond simple entertainment, then I think you’ve achieved a great character, and again, doesn’t matter if they are good or evil or in between. The stories that stick with me over time are always those where I found a trait or belief of a character to be reflective of something I understand, and that makes them stick with me.
