“On July 16, 2018 Trump reiterated he took Putin’s word while betraying the United States. Tonight we learned in 2017 not only did Trump acknowledge Russia meddled in the 2016 election. He told the Russians in the Oval Office he wasn’t concerned.”
I don’t normally comment on the political posts I make. Usually, the post speaks for itself. However, we are in a moment in history that requires commentary from EVERY SINGLE American.
Donald Trump KNEW and ADMITTED KNOWING that Russia interfered with the 2016 elections. Think about what this means. Donald Trump essentially admitted to everything that was documented in the Mueller Report.
Remember how often he said he didn’t believe what the Intelligence Community was telling him? Think about why McConnell is blocking Election Security bills. These men knew there was danger to our elections and, not only didn’t do a thing about it, they also lied about it. They actively harmed and are continuing to harm America. This is straight up treason. I do not say this lightly. Or with any sense of happiness, as much as I despise the entire Trump administration and the GOP. What these people did is beyond even what I imagine was the most traitorous thing I could think of.
Some people might ask where’s the quid pro quo. First, if this is your defense, you already know you’re wrong. Second, let’s get a look at Trump’s taxes. Your quid pro quo will be there. And before you ask what about the people around Trump, it’s clear they cared more about keeping their jobs than taking hard evidence to either the DOJ or Dem leadership, if you were afraid the DOJ was compromised.
We have really only seen the tip of this iceberg. Politics is my sports, and I knew it was an iceberg. But I had no idea how big is actually was. And I am terrified that it is even bigger than I’m currently imagining.
I am going to ask that if you’ve read this far, you add your own thoughts. This can be a living thread for this moment in history.
