it is insane that no one cares about history. like the common language of reality. no one cares about that. and I know historical fact is contested blah blah blah I’m not making a claim about how to read history or what to count as history I mean as a baseline people are disinterested in history as like a foundation of their own knowledge. the beliefs in their head are not tethered by history. and this is not a problem for them. and I know this because citing history does not persuade people, it’s not a site of revelation. and you’re called insane for bringing it up

The other implication of "its okay to be a feminine man" is that its more okay to be a feminine man than a trans woman. To be clear it is not actually that they are okay with feminine men, and this is a unknowing admittance there is a social heirarchy of available gender expressions with trans woman on the bottom.

She made her past as a prosecutor a cornerstone of her pitch. She bragged about owning a Glock and joked that she would shoot people who broke into her house. She stuffed the Democratic National Convention to the gills with cops and Border Patrol agents while crushing even the tiniest dissent over her support for the genocide in Gaza. She promised the most “lethal” military in the world. She was seemingly joined at the hip with Liz Cheney for weeks. She even praised Dick Cheney! It’s hard to think of what more she could have done to satisfy the people clamoring for her to pander to conservatives.

I have to admit I kind of hold out hope for a sort of "slop accelerationism" with respect to AI. Like we've had slop for a long time. Think of front page of reddit bullshit. "Oh I spent ten hours making a photorealistic crayon drawing of Walter White." "Check out my girlfriend's drawing of Finn from Adventure Time in the Simpsons." Really just a bunch of stuff that's designed to give you a little hit of particularly fecund feelings (even if it's outrage or whatever). And this stuff really isn't that interesting. It's all gimmicks. And my hope is that AI bullshit will flood the market enough that we realize it's all gimmicky bullshit that's not that interesting
