I know the depiction of the smurfs' home land from the Johan and Peewit comics is now considered noncanon to the Smurfs comics and cartoons' continuity, but I feel like there IS a way to connect the two canons.

Like, what if they were to adapt The Cursed Country into a cartoon again and then add a scene in the end where Johan, Peewit, and the King were helping the Smurfs find a new place to live? And that new place happens to be far richer in life than their old home with flowers and leafy trees everywhere, and it was told in a flashback like a "This is how we got to living here!" sort of thing.

I think that'd be pretty neat and a neat way to acknowledge the og setting's existence while also retconning it in favor of the more lush Smurf village setting we know now.

I can't really imagine Johan being able to grow a full beard. It'd be a bit patchy in spots at worst, or he'd just be unable to grow it very long if it's nice and even, but he could certainly grow a nice mustache and goatee if he wanted to. Maybe he'd go through a phrase in his 30s and 40s when he decided to grow out his facial hair into a stylish goatee. And by his 60s when his hair became all silver, he decided to go clean shaven again for old time's sake. ^_^

Apparently, "Schtroumpf à La Fête" or Actor Smurf in the US dub of Magic Flute, has a couple other French names and is called Reveler Smurf in the English comics if the Smurfs wiki is to be trusted. Though, I think "Party Smurf" would've been a much cuter name for him. ^w^

Him and Poet Smurf kinda win the award for best smurf voices in the French dub besides Papa Smurf's chill old dad voice. Poet Smurf's singing is so pretty and Reveler/Actor Smurf's voice is just too cute!

So, The Smurfs and the Magic Flute had an actual official soundtrack on vinyl, albeit in French, but that's just as good as an English one for me (even though I'm not even CLOSE to fluent at all lol).

This song deserves a shout out for being just so smurf darned PRETTY! I'm not mad that it got replaced in the American dub (why would I, anyway? the american dub was the first version I saw back in high school), I like that one too, it's just a different kind of pretty more akin to 80s new wave (a genre I've adored since middle school btw).

This one actually fits with the medieval period the story is set in really well and the lyrics are also real nice. Props to Peyo and Yvan Delporte for writing this one, they did good. And also props to Michel Legrand for composing this and the rest of the soundtrack. The music in this movie is dang solid overall. ^w^

So, in the newspaper comics in Le Derniere Heure and Le Soir, the king had a daughter named Isabelle and Johan had to rescue her in a plot that may have inspired the storyline in The Goblin of Rocky Wood. We don't see her in the comics after that though, so chances are, she married someone from another kingdom and formed an alliance.

So with that in mind, now that I'm looking at this shot again, I'm thinking maybe that might've been Princess Isabelle's old room or one belonging to another heir that may or may not have died at a young age. Or maybe just a plain old nursery? Idk. Either way, how is there an adult sized cradle in the castle? :p

Maybe it was originally built for multiple babies sleeping together? Or maybe the king's just quirky like that and asked for an adult sized cradle, who knows?
