A favorite from a recent maternity session that I did. Excited to photograph their new baby girl when she gets here!

I wouldn't trade anything for mine.
1. A couple of exciting business opportunities have popped up in the last week. I won’t know if either or both will actually happen for several weeks, so I’m trying not to think about any of it, but that’s easier said than done - especially since if things work out how I’m hoping, it could finally be the fresh start we’ve needed for so long. Sorry if I’m being overly vague. I just don’t want to go into detail until or unless there’s really something to tell. *fingers crossed and prayers sent
2. Meanwhile, I missed another call about the photography gig from last week. The recruiter finally called me back, apparently when I was pumping gas! The phone was in the car, and I was outside at the gas pump. What are the odds?! And of course, I got her voicemail again when I tried to call back. The phone tag saga continues.
3. I’m thinking of going for a new look next year. Why not? I’ll be turning 40 too, so 2014 will be a monumental year. I’m thinking I’d like to wear more dresses and sandals. Maybe grow my hair out again. I’ve worn it way short for several years now. Not sure if I’ll start dreads again or go for something altogether different. And exercise. Don’t hold me to that part, but I’m also thinking about starting to exercise again. I lost a lot of weight without trying after having my kids and then when I had emergency hernia surgery after that. That was all within a few short years, and now that all that’s behind me, I am starting to feel like the weight I lost “accidentally” is creeping back in, and I don’t really want it back. So, I guess there’s only one way to make it go away and stay away, but I’m not excited about it.
4. I often assume that people I meet (especially online) are as old as I am and know the same things about the world that I do. Oftentimes, they aren’t, and they don’t. Need to remember that. The older I get, the younger the rest of the world seems.
5. I have 2 maternity photo sessions lined up for the beginning of November, which is pretty exciting. My freelance photography work always comes in spurts. It will feel good to get behind the camera for an actual shoot again, and I’m sure my kids will appreciate the temporary break from serving as my models! Plus, the babies from these maternity sessions will be born in a few more weeks, which will mean more pictures! Works for me.
Another recent favorite from a different session. I was excited to try out some new maternity props!
