Today you decided it was a good idea to follow Lo'ak on what he called a “little swim”.you should've known better. The teen just came to the clan and has already gotten into trouble so when he asked you to walk with him which took some time to persuade you said yes just make sure he's safe.
Nothing can go wrong, right?
Wrong.
Getting onto an ilu with Lo'ak should've already made you re- think going on, but no. Everything was going fine until he couldn't handle the ilu causing you to fly off and scrap your arm and leg across a rock. Which Lo'ak got scolded by Jake and Neteyam once you both came back.
Anyway Neteyam and you and both are in a marui pod cleaning your wounds.
“ You need to stop following lo'ak before you get really hurt.” Neteyam said.
“I know Nete I was just trying to keep him saf-”
“-Well, it didn't,” the tall Na'vi said, cutting you off while cleaning your scrape.
Neteyam hates whenever you are his family (especially you and lo'ak) get hurt. Whenever you get hurt he sometimes puts it on himself for not being there to help. Though that's something he has to deal with whenever you're with lo'ak.
"I mean Nete it's lo'ak he's good at persuading people '' you said.
Rolling his eyes, smiling just thinking about his brother getting into a fight with Aonung and the others. Having to step in, having to save his sister and brother. What you said is true, so he couldn't help but laugh.
“Yeah but lo'aks actions could make someone die” dabbing the cloth on your leg.
Wincing, you reply “don't jinx that on yourself”
“I won't die, but promise not to hurt yourself”

It's been two weeks since somebody named Jake Sully had come to the Omaticaya clan, and let's just say you didn't like him. I mean, he wasn't bad looking nor was he rude. It's just that he came from the sky people, and you don't know what he could do. Though, it looked like someone took a liking to him.

Sure she hit him with her bow and tried to kill him with the bow, but it wasn't that bad.

At first fierce Na'vi was angry at her dad for asking her to show him the ways of the Omaticaya but once she rambles on and off about it later to you, you tell her it might just be for a week and after that, she can just go back to her normal days in the forest with you, she turned to look at Jake who was touching plants that he didn't know jack shit about Neytiri sighed taking in your words. She compiled and dragged her feet over to him.

Wishing that you hadn't said anything last week to Neytiri because now she and Sully are always near each other. It's like she completely forgot about you. Like it's been a week.

There are times where you would wait for her to join you in your ney ney y/n/n hut, but she never shows up. Instead, she's just busy with him.
The only time you see her is when you go hunting or just doing your daily strolls, but besides that, you both hardly talk.
Wishing you were the person who once made her laugh over and over again. Or sleeping next to each other.

That was her excuse.

“I'm tired.”
Lightly hitting the back of her head a couple of times on the tree. Chuckling, Neytiri shakes her head smiling at ___'s comment curious on what to say.
“Then sleep?” She says.
Turning your head, you glare at the bright-eyed Na'vi.
“I know that, but what if you'll miss my voice while I sleep?” You replied, smirking at her.

A/n: Welcome! If you're reading this, tysm. I first want to clarify that this chapter is when both y/n and Neytiri are both 13 years old and will get older as the chapter's progress. So, what will it be?
Letting go of your arrow to see that you killed a fish. Carefully getting into the water to not disturbed any fish, you still manage to splash yourself a couple of times. Picking up the fish and walking back to the small patch of grass, you throw the dead fish in the net your parents gave you to bring back.
“One down, nine to go.” You articulated.
Killing the last fish and throwing it into the net. You tie up the net and toss it behind your back, walking to go find your parents in the forest.

“I'M BACK, MOM!” Dropping the net, your mom looks at the fish then turns back to the food she was cutting.
“Stop yelling ___ before I throw this knife at you” the older Na'vi said.
Huffing at your mom's remarks, you lay down on the ground and start staring at the sky for it only to be cut short.
“When will food be ready?”
“In a little while, just have patience”
You know your mom. When she says in a little while, the “little while” turns seconds into minutes and minutes into hours. Sitting in silence for a little while, you get up and tell your mom you'll be back. Wandering off into the forest.

After searching for a spot to stay at for the meaning which felt like forever, you stumbled across a spot. A section of grass covered by a shadow from a tree with a small pond.
Laying down feeling the soft grass touch your back, you start to get comfortable. The noises of the pond. The sounds of Ikran. It's enough to put you asleep.
Closing your eyes, promising yourself you will just take a nap turned into a full on slumber.
Though little did you know, that spot you're sleeping on right now was someone else's spot.

Humming a song Neytiri's mother Mo'at sang for her rang through her head while strolling around the forest.
Her home.
Of course, never being the second daughter of Mo'at and Eytukan wasn't easy, but she liked it that way. Pushing herself but not too much, Neytiri learned not to focus too much on others and focus on the person she was just yesterday and the days after today.
Hearing the crunch every time she puts one foot in front of the other is like music to her ears. Turning to the left and taking the path she normally goes through everyday, she finally makes it to her spot.
But something was off.
She saw the body of another Na'vi in her spot. Quietly, she walked near the body to see a girl her age sleeping. Carefully putting her bow down and kneeling to get a better view of the young Omaticaya.
Taking in your features, she didn't think you looked that bad. I mean, it's not everyday you see a pretty person your age in your hiding spot.
Now sitting down, she crosses her legs and waits for you to wake up.

Waiting for which feels like forever to Neytiri she hears a sudden yawn that catches her attention. You start to stretch with your eyes closed.
'Weird,' Neytiri thought, but didn't take it to heart.
Now eventually opening your eyes, you come face to face with a girl you don't even know.
“AHHH” Slapping her face, Neytiri hissed.
Well, damn.
Rushing to help the girl, you apologize.
“I'm sorry it all just happened so fast”
Getting a good view of the girl, your heart dropped.
You just hit Neytiri, Eytukan's daughter. Yeah, you're definitely getting in trouble once you get home.
Holding her cheek “it's fine, I would have smacked you if that was the first thing I saw” Neytiri said causing you to gasp.
“Are you calling me ugly?”
“What? No, of course not, I'm just sayin-” stopping mid-way after hearing giggling coming from the girl.
“I'm just playing with you, relax” you say while lightly smacking her arm, causing Neytiri to move her arm away from your grasp.
“What's your name?”
“Huh?” Taking you back a little.
“I don't make me repeat myself”

Three days have passed since you and the Sully's come to the Metkayina clan to seek protection. So far, everything's been going alright. Well, besides Lo'ak always getting in trouble by his dad.
Nonetheless, there was one person that fought Lo'ak with that caught your eye.
Aonung.
Of course, you still love Neteyam, but you can't help but love them equally. But little did you know your special someone caught onto the bond you and Aonung have.
I mean, Lo'ak was the first to point it out then told Neteyam on how suspicious you both were.
I mean, it's not every day Aonung is nice to people. He dropped the insults and didn't even both make fun of Lo'ak anymore because you gave him the cold shoulder.
So, without telling anyone besides them. You asked the boys to meet you on a rock near the sand to express your feelings for Aonung and Neteyam(even though you already did).
“My love, you need m-”
“Why'd you call me out hear __-”
Hearing each other's voices, they turn around with their jaws dropped.
“What are you doing, here, forest boy?”
“I could ask the same thing,” Neteyam says, turning his head in your direction. Looking for an explanation.
“I can explain”
Now, with both of their eyes on you, you explain yourself.
“Ever since we came here I've grown fond of you Aonung. I-i still love you, Neteyam and my love for you goes way back.”
Neteyam looked like he was about to shed a tear. Were you breaking up with him?
“So I thought since I love you both equally, why not have two instead of one”
“WHAT! “ They both say in unison.
“A-are you ok, my love? Did he hit you in the head and make you go crazy?” Laughing at his words, you shake your head 'no'.
“No Ney I was just… thinking”hoping he would say yes.
Ten minutes later, the silence broke.
“ I guess I'm down,” Neteyam said, causing you to smile. Which led both of you to look at Aonung.
“... Fine” Shaking his head smiling.

Jake has decided to leave the clan and go to the Metkayina clan to keep his family safe and far away from the sky people. Everybody was on board(A/n: not really but let's just yk act like it) well besides one person.
Neteyam.
He never wanted to leave. He had a life here, grew up here, and especially he had you. You both have been together for quite some time. When you thought everything was good, it actually wasn't. So, here you both are cuddling on the grass near a tree covering up the sunlight.
Now thinking it was the best time to address the matter, so he spoke up.
“My love, I have to tell you something”
Ears twitching from the voice you hum to know you're listening.
“I'm leaving the clan”
You feel like your heart just shattered into a million pieces. A million thoughts ran through your mind, and you couldn't even speak. When you decided to speak, it came out in a whisperer.
“What? Neteyam, what is the reason for this?” Trying to lift his head up, so he could see you. He didn't respond. Feeling betrayed yet saddened that he's leaving you.
“TELL ME NEY, TELL ME” You screamed shaking his shoulders
Startling the forest boy who is now staring at his feet.
“MY DAD ___ MY DAD”
Now getting up, both making eye contact. Becoming teary, he puts his head on your shoulders and wraps his arms around your waist. You can't help but get emotional and put your hands on his hair.
“I don't want to leave __ I don't want to leave you” the boy say's crying.
“I'll come with you”
Lifting his head up, he shakes his head. Are you out of your mind? Do you not know what could happen?
“You're family, what if they need yo-”
“-they'll understand” walking past him to go get your things. Neteyam grabs your wrist before you can make another step. There's no way he's bringing you along. If you ever got hurt he would never forgive himself.
“I can't let you go, my love. If you get hurt…"
Clearing his throat
“I'll never forgive myself.” Now with his hands on your cheek, you tilt your head and lean into them.
“Do you know what I would do if you left me all alone by myself?”
Waiting for an answer.
“I would kill myself, Neteyam. So let. Me. Come.”
Knowing he can't win this, he nods his head.
“I'll go ask my father, but we leave tomorrow morning.”

'Today was the day' Aonung thought. The day he will ask you out while going on a walk in the sand. Ever since Neteyam came to the Metkayina Clan, he can't help but wish he took his place.
The way you look at him while helping him ride his Ilu just made him jealous. Whenever you would be near Neteyam it was like he wasn't even there. Unnoticeable is all he thinks.
I mean, look at you. Teal skin and the way your eyes would light up whenever you looked at the sea. Your beautiful goddess braids, he can't seem to keep his eyes off you. What is there to hate about you?
But lucky Aonung you had the same or even more feelings for him. You see the looks he gives you. It's like you can feel his eyes on you every second of the day. Which who are you the one to complain?
However, you can't help but feel guilty whenever you see him walk away from you and Neteyam like he's had enough. Wanting to run and be in his embrace every time. Though, Neteyam always puts a hand on your shoulder and shakes his head meaning 'not the time'.
One thing Aonung didn't know is that while he thought you had feelings for Neteyam, Neteyam actually was the one helping you on what to say and how to feel confident in yourself (which he really can't give much advice on).
So, since Aonung asked you to meet you outside near the sea, you thought 'today is the day'.
“Remember what I told you, ok” Neteyam said, causing you to roll your eyes.
“Yes Ney I know”
“Ok just don't freez-”
Stopping what you were doing and turning around.
“-I never freeze, what are you talking about”
“Mhm ok”
Neteyam wasn't buying that at all. The way you speak about Aonung has him wondering if that's the same dude or is another guy named Aonung. But later seeing the way he looks at you, he's like. 'Yeah it's him'.

Just then, you wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him. Knowing how he felt about you this whole time and not really needing to say anything sparked something in you.
Moments later when the kiss gets a little heated, you both pull and catch each other's breath. Putting your hand on his chest.

Since the war with the sky people and Neteyam almost losing his life, you always wanted him by your side. The sight of Neteyam near death scared you and still managed to repeat in your mind. So, here you are treating his wounds.
Tracing one hand over his chest while the other on his thigh, looking up at him. He refused to meet your gaze and only looked at your hands instead. Just you seeing him in this state is enough to make him feel embarrassed.
He made a promise to always keep you safe and protected at all cost yet all he feels like now is a failure. Hurt that while he was dying, all he could feel was you and his mom's tears dropping on to his skin.
“I'm sorry”
You. Stop wrapping up his knuckles and look away from the boy and his apology.
“Don't be sorry for something you can't control”
Even if he got hurt, you saw this as a sign of strength.
