The French hijab ban pisses me off so much. The very idea of a hijab ban is irrefutably a violation, undeniably discriminatory and bigoted. And to enforce it upon your athletes, your champions competing for you at like the biggest sporting event, it's so disrespectful and audacious. It's such a clear disregard for your athletes. They're not just your athletes, they're your people, but France has made it clear they don't care about French Muslims.
Iran demanding women wear hijab when competing and France demanding women not wear hijab when competing is the same control of women and religion from different sides of the coin.
You should be angry that any person in any country is being forced to wear or not wear a piece of clothing by law. That's a violation of bodily autonomy, and frankly, France has a particularly fucked up problem in this ring in the democratic country circles.

idk if this is a trope or whatever but i love it so much when fictional characters massively downplay the severity of their injuries but in more of a comedic way than a tragic one. like some guy gets impaled and they just glance down at the shard of metal sticking out of them and say some dumb bullshit like "oh man. that's gonna need some ice." and then pass out while all their friends yell at them for being an unfunny idiot with terrible priorities.

Run into a cave and break your ankle so that people have to come find you and they see you lying at the bottom of this beautiful cave and maybe there’s a waterfall and the light from the crystals makes you look really beautiful and they say “Are you okay?” and you say “I think so” and they say “oh my God have you been here alone this whole time with a broken ankle” and you say “it’s okay” and they say “you’re so brave” and you are brave and you look so beautiful surrounded by cave crystals and everyone stands over you and says “oh wow” and “you poor beautiful thing” and “I’m so sorry we let you run into the cave but I’m so glad we found you” and let them carry you home and promise to be your best friends forever and that everything’s their fault and also they named the cave after you and you’re prettier than all of your enemies and your enemies all died of jealousy while you were in the cave.

#hello i am back to vague post and then put what’s really going on in the tags#my grandpa died suddenly and i am devastated#i am really close with my maternal grandparents so this is my first big loss of a person in my life#i’m thankful i got this many years with him but i thought we’d have a lot more#he and my grandma just had their 55th wedding anniversary in march#i hope she will be okay#they were in the process of buying a new house and moving in with my sister and her partner#so at least my grandma won’t be completely alone#anyways that’s all and if you read all of this you’re my favorite#listen here pal

There was a trans girl I used to follow on tumblr, who I think is no longer here but might have just changed her name and I lost track
who commented on how it was easier to pass in Utah than it was in San Francisco. In Utah people were like "wearing a dress, has earrings, must be a girl, check!" Whereas in SF people would pass her on the street and say "hey man, nice dress!"
