Oh my God, this whole episode was just THE DOCTOR LOVES ROSE. They’ve already had such chemistry through the whole series and then they’re separated before the episode even begins. The Doctor’s main concern? Where is Rose, is she safe, how can I get to her. He cares for her so deeply - he’s her protector and he’s taken her on these adventures, he’s brought her here. He wants to keep her safe and show her the universe and give her everything that her heart desires. He just wants to be reunited with her.

After fighting his way out of the Big Brother game, he looks for Rose. It’s still his only concern and he never drops this cause. So when he finds her, it’s like a breath of fresh air. He could have lost her, she could have been hurt. And then she’s torn from him. She’s inches away from him and then she’s gone. Nothing left but a pile of dust. He feels incredibly guilty and blames himself entirely - he should have been quicker, he never should have brought her here, he’s been selfish and put her in danger just so he can keep her around. He isn’t just sad - he falls to his knees. He physically drops to his knees in despair. The whole world is crumbling around him and his only concern is Rose. He doesn’t resist arrest because he doesn’t see a point. It takes him so much time and energy to recover from it and even then, it is to avenge Rose. He won’t let her die in vain or uselessly. He wants to make whoever stole her truly pay for what they have done. He is angry and ruthless and takes no shit - this is Rose motherfucking Tyler they took from him. The Doctor loves her. This isn’t just any “stupid ape” they’ve stolen.

Then the Doctor’s joy when he finds out she’s not dead. The gleam in his eyes and the smile as he realises what Jack is saying. And he doesn’t just smile - he jumps for joy and cheers. He isn’t just pleased, he’s ecstatic. He still has her. She’s not gone, not really. And we’ve never seen him this happy. That relief and that joy and that love just pours out of him for anyone to see. And then he doesn’t stop - he won’t let the daleks have her. He turns around and he says no - he full-on cries no. He won’t let her down. He never lets her down. And god fucking damnit, Rose knows it.
