I've read "Agent Loki" by Dee which is unfortunately not online anymore. I saw links under the post where I mentioned the fanfic, maybe there's a copy online. And to be honest I don't really remember what the fic was about 😅 just that it was written well and the concept inspired me ✨
And I sure enjoy drawing brooding Loki with long hair and comfy clothes. Here he is, in his S.H.I.E.L.D. holding cell, remembering his final day in Asgard when it was destroyed by Thanos.

It’s one of those AUs that are a little too complicated to explain but I’ll try to summarize… mostly for context sake.
Once upon a time there was a Loki, he was plagued by madness and destroyed everything that crossed his path. Truly irredeemable. But Thor loved him far too much and couldn’t let him go, he couldn’t bring himself to kill him. Despite all the anger, pain, and devastation, Thor always held back that final blow. Sentiment always got in the way. In Thor’s moment of weakness, Loki always manages to escape his grasp and flee. The cycle of chaos and destruction repeats itself once he has fully healed. Others are sent to step up where Thor fails… but Thor is just as mad as his brother, his love is poison, an obsession that makes him turn on his brethren and anyone who tries to hurt his beloved. For eons, this is their dance, the fury of two gods that bring nothing but death. Thor grows tired, he needs to fix this… fix Loki and bring him back home. Loki belongs at his side! He has a powerful enchanted headpiece created, one that would lock the madness away and make Loki obedient.
Before his thoughts are sealed Loki manages to detach part of his essence into a murder of magpies spread across the multiverse. Little parts of himself, considerably harmless to the scale of his entire self. Tho his original form is nothing but a lifeless and dull doll, he lives through the scattered pieces of himself and awaits the day to reclaim his life back.

There is a particular magpie that Loki is attached to. Unlike the rest of the murder, this one is very different. It’s a part Loki thought long dead. The creature is quite pathetic and weak and such piece is wasted space and is better off dead… but it’s fascinating being able to retreat to that part of himself on particularly dull days. Loki silently haunts them basking on their fear, none wise of what they truly are.
