Shelfie Sunday: my two read bookshelves
My Annotations of ‘The Oxford Book of Ireland’ by Patricia Craig.
Exceeded all expectations. I love, love, love it. The pieces of literature that Patricia has picked to discuss the theme of each chapter have given me more perspective on the Irish experience than any history or non-fiction book ever could have. Poems, diary and journal entries, excerpts from novels and letters, have painted a powerful and striking picture of the life and times of the people of this country.
I found myself pulled towards the nature prose as it was breathtaking. These talented writers were able to put to words the beautiful views I see on the daily. The Ireland of these authors is long gone but the land and its beauty have remained the same.
Remembering my Australia bookstore browsing! There were so many gorgeous shelves.
almost finished with the voyage of the basilisk, and so far im quite enjoying it! the beginning was a bit slower but as i reached page 100 and onward it really picked up in the intrigue and also the dragons! expected rating is 4 stars currently.
currently taking four books with me on my quick vacation to read in the car, (voyage of the basilisk, untethered sky, sins on their bones and the wings upon her back). hopefully i get to them all and can shrink that tbr in preparation for some orders to arrive!
buy me books and i will be happy
“The library in summer is the most wonderful thing because there you get books on any subject and read them each for only as long as they hold your interest, abandoning any that don't, halfway or a quarter of the way through if you like, and store up all that knowledge in the happy corners of your mind for your own self and not to show off how much you know or spit it back at your teacher on a test paper.” ― Polly Horvath, My One Hundred Adventures
“The bird belonged so genuinely to the pastel, watery landscape; how wonderful it must be to belong!”
