First off, thank you! I wasn’t really confident with this idea but I’m getting motivation again.
Oh yes, it’s not a curse without some painful routes. The Madrigal Family would be split apart. I planned that while cursed, each member of the Madrigals would be within arms reach of one another.
Pepa and Julieta don’t remember being sisters or having a brother, Bruno. Alma believes her children are all gone, and the Madrigal grandkids are all scattered throughout the town.
Despite seeing each other in town every day, the Madrigal Family would never be together. Always within arms reach of each other.
I had a few thoughts on the Madrigals' new identities.
Alma is the Mayor of the small town of Mayor, the only family she had left were her two granddaughters; Isabela Flores and Dolores Gaitan.
I was planning on having the couple, Pepa/Felix and Julieta/Agustin still be together but not remembering that they have children at all; But it wouldn’t exactly be a curse now, would it?
I’m gonna keep thinking about that. In the meantime;
Pepa is the weather reporter in town and Felix is part of a musical group that performs in local bars and stops. They’re a happily married couple but they have their hands full with their only child, Antonio, who deeply believes their town is cursed.
Julieta and Agustin Beatriz own and work in a family diner, it’s fairly popular in town but the couple often struggles to make ends meet. Julieta works as the cook, and Agustin serves the orders, he’s a little clumsy but means well.
Bruno is not part of the town. Suffering from a deep case of agoraphobia, Bruno has secluded himself to a rustic cabin in the woods surrounding the town. He never leaves the safety of his home and keeps mostly to himself. The only person he ever interacts with is Julieta, she found him one day and now visits him daily to bring him warm food. Their interactions are limited to talking through the door, but sometimes Bruno invites her inside. Not always though.
Luisa is the town protector/sheriff of Encanto, she doesn’t talk much about her family and often keeps up a stoic attitude. In private, Luisa feels the pressure of keeping everyone in town safe, because they all look to her for every little problem.
As the granddaughter of the mayor, Isabela is the perfect flower of the town. Which means she has a lot of expectations to live up to. Including an arranged marriage. Dolores is often overlooked by Isabela, the two get along but have different expectations. Dolores volunteers in the town library because it’s quiet, and holds the town's entire history.
Camilo is actually Luisas’ foster brother. The young teen had been left behind by his parents who skipped town, at least that’s the story here. Luisa took the young boy under her wing, even though he can get into the occasional trouble.
Everyone in town believes that Antonio Castillo has a vivid imagination. After reading a fairytale book, the young boy became convinced that Encanto is cursed and everyone has forgotten who they really are. So, Antonio had made it his mission to find Mirabel, the only person who could break the curse.
