so fucking tired of seeing those ugly princess redesigns if fitting your animation style involves stripping a character of any unique facial features at all, particularly wide noses and other features typical of poc, then your animation style is shitty

Blacklist “Ralph Breaks the Internet” then.

I might have missed it but was Rabbit shown in the Christopher Robin Trailer

Yes, he was.

The only character missing in the trailer is Gopher, who I don’t think will appear in the film at all. He hasn’t appeared on any Winnie the Pooh related media since 2005′s Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie.

Do you not accept things submitted anymore?

No. It wasn’t useful or helpful to me at all. Actually, it was only annoying me. Too many bots and strange accounts sending links and spam. Then I decided to remove the submit thing.

So I'm assuming that the circus family will fill in for Timothy Q. Mouse's role on the live-action adaptation? I hope that he'll at least gets a shout-out on the movie.

It really feels that way. I hope he will get at least a cameo. He was such an important character in the original film.

Dumbo's trailer just came out and I didn't expect it at all. They made it felt so sinister. I'm excited for it though, to see a new take on an old classic.

Yes, It was so unexpected. Usually they release a poster or some pictures the day before. I really loved the trailer and how it used the song Baby Mine. I almost cried lol

(I sent this once already...I guess you didn’t get it?) It seems weird to me that it’s Cinderella’s design changes that bother you in wreck it Ralph. At the very least she’s still identifiable as Cinderella. Pocahontas doesn’t even remotely resemble herself? Her eyes are too big, and too close together, and her mouth is a completely different shape. On top of that, she’s now the same color as Anna, when before she was much closer to Jasmine’s color.

Well, to be fair all of them are very identifiable. It’s just that Cinderella’s face looks quite weird. She doesn’t look like herself much.

Pocahontas was actually one of the redesigns that I liked the most. It was probably tricky to give her a redesign that fitted the cartunistic style of Wreck-It Ralph because unlike the other princesses, Pocahontas was designed to look almost realistic, as her movie made use of the rotoscoping animation technique.

But she still looks like herself while still fitting the animation style of Ralph Breaks the Internet, in my opinion. And all of the Disney Princesses’ eyes are bigger and they all went through redesigns. Actually even their heads are bigger too. Even Rapunzel, Merida, Elsa and Anna, whose movies were CGI animated, also had some changes in their designs.

Now about Pocahontas’ skin color, maybe it’s just the lightning and the movie’s different color pallets?! But no way her skin color is the same as Anna.

My issue with Belle saying "kidnapped or enslaved" is that she was neither. Beast did not kidnap her or put her to work/made her do labor, she volunteered herself on her own free will. So imo the word choice is wrong cause kidnapped and enslaved mean it was involuntary when she volunteered. If that makes sense. Also yeah Cinderella looks really weird

Avatar

Idk it’s just a way to interpret it. Maybe she was actually speaking out for the other princesses? You know, Rapunzel was kidnapped, and Snow White and Cinderella were enslaved.

Okay but the thing about the controversial design changes in 2012 was that the changes they made to Pocahontas and Mulan were actually controversial? They changed their original, very good designs, into overblown stereotyping caricatures of what they were supposed to be.

Oh, no, I can understand the controversy surrounding Pocahontas and Mulan’s designs. I was actually trying to say that people were also complaining about all the other redesigns because of every small details that were changed and all that glitter that they added.

cinderella looks different bc she has ears in wreck it ralph!! she didn’t have them in any of her other designs

Disney gave her a new design by 2012 with ears that’s still used on toys and other merchandise nowadays. She doesn’t look weird there in my opinion.

It’s so funny to remember the “controversial” 2012 Disney Princesses redesigns. People got so, so, so mad over redesigns made for kids’ toys lol

Avatar

I've seen a lot of people say that the reason why is because she has ears now when she never did before, but honestly I disagree. They made her face and body too much like a child I think. Cinderella has a pretty womanly figure I feel, and they should have given her a face and body more similar to Pocahontas and Briar Rose

Pocahontas, Aurora and Snow White all look amazing. Idk how they could have done Cinderella so wrong. What happened? lol

I'm gonna confess I'm glad I'm not the only one finding some of this very ooc that's going on in wreck it ralph two with the princesses.

That wasn’t Disney’s Cinderella. That was actually Shrek’s Cinderella going Turbo.

also another cringe-y part was when belle said kidnapped?????? Her dad was kidnapped, but she wasn’t? anyway, like you said it’s just a small scene so I’m probs just looking too much into it? ^^;; but that line irked me a lot hahahah (sorry for the ramble!) I’m glad to see your posts again on my dash! Are you excited for incredibles 2? :D

Idk, that didn’t feel cringy for me. All the princesses were exaggerating, excited and stuff. It’s a comedy anyway. You know, Belle changed places with her father but she was still kept a “prisoner” inside the castle and forbidden to go back home. So in some way, she was kidnapped.

But Cinderella threatening a child with broken glass was way too exaggerated and out of character. That felt straight out of a Shrek movie.

Thanks! And, yes, I’m really excited for Incredibles 2. It’s going to be amazing!!!

Why were there 3 voice actors for Arthur in the Sword in the Stone?

I read it was because Arthur’s original voice actor, Rickie Sorensen, entered puberty during production. So the movie’s director, Wolfgang Reitherman, replaced him with his sons, Richard Reitherman and Robert Reitherman.

Not sure why they still used Sorensen’s voice in the final film.

Avatar

I'm so conflicted on that scene as well. On one hand, having easily one of the kindest of the Disney Princesses, even when taking into account her third movie which showed that even SHE has a limit, is out of character to the point of being ridiculous. Same time, that's partially why it makes me laugh seeing it.

Avatar

She probably got sick of hearing so many people saying she’s weak or boring for so many years lol

Another problem I have with the portrayal of Cinderella in the film is her design. I get it that they all got new designs to fit the movie’s animation style and they are only going to be on it for a couple minutes, but it’s just that... she doesn’t look like herself.

“this was terribly out of character” you’re RIGHT and you SHOULD say it!!!!!!!!

It’s just that we waited so much to finally see the Disney Princesses together on a film that I didn’t want to be negative about that scene in anyway lol

But, yes, that was cringy. Cinderella is the last Disney character I can imagine doing something like that.

Avatar

Someone at Disney and Pixar were apparently just as salty as I was over movies like Frozen and Enchanted apparently admitting people who criticize the Princesses are right. Someone very clearly had a few words to say XD

Avatar

That line Rapunzel delivered was brilliant!

But I didn’t feel like Enchanted and Frozen admitted that people who criticizes the princesses are right...
