Since Floor and Helkite sire swarms with Tenn and Tak, do they ever get to spend time with them? Father Time?

Ooh!

Actually, yes! Floog and Helkite are very involved fathers.

After Floog and what few of his remaining underling scientists survived the "time thingy" fiasco, they eventually joined Mem's hive. Floog had long lost faith in the irken empire since he and his team were left to rot by Red and Purple, so the opportunity to help build an Irken settlement outside the rule of the empire was very enticing to Floog.

Currently, on top of assisting Zim with his PAK downgrading efforts/ research, Floog gives educated lessons on arithmetic and physics to his swarm and all the smeets/ members in Mem's hives [including the older smeets/ members. Floog takes pride in this ]

Floog always willingly volunteers to look after the swarms of his polycule if Tenn and Tak have additional matters to tend to. He is fascinated by his swarms and their development and yes, he loves them.

Helkite was designated the hive's official flying instructor long before he sired a swarm with Tak. He didn't initially take interest in parental duties. Skathe and Vicious usually looked after his younger siblings for Mem, but he quickly warmed up to the polycules' swarms. Helkite often drops in to take his smeets out flying (hiking for the smeets who don't have wings. This way, everyone is familiar with the surroundingterrain). Torte, Tak's fastest growing smeet is Helkite's greatest challenge as a pupil. Her body and wingspan ratio have not regulated yet, so gliding off cliffdides is the best she can manage most lessons. Helkite is impressed with her landing technique though.

Tak's smeets consider Helkite their "fun" coddle drone. They zoom in every direction with excitement whenever he drops in. Tak has settled into the disciplinarian/ protector/ provider role; which is all too necessary but but not always celebrated by her young swarm. She tries not to let it get to her.

Tak "Where is your wife-human? She's supposed to be painting my likeness."

Gaz "Picking up our kid from foot-er soccer practice."

Tak "Ah. Your Isla makes me miss my Tenn."

Gaz "Dib will make sure you're back on the hideaway planet before your due day. How are you holding up?"

Tak "Shitty, if I'm using the term correctly. They tell you in the informational videos pregnancy is painful, but they also tell you it's impossible to prepare you for the task. Tenn seems to be adjusting better than me, mentally and physically. I'm confident she will survive the labor. Me, not so much. Even if I do she will be the better coddle drone."

Gaz "You'll do fine. I mean, I pull it off. I actually like being a mom. You have Mem and her hive to help you two out."

Tak "True. The males can take care of most of the dirty work. You humans should assign your males coddle drone duties. It worked for us Irkens until the smeetery system was put into place."

Gaz "We have to take things on a case by case basis with us humans."

Tak "Hold still" *grunts*

Gaz "You wouldn't leave a task so important to just any drone. I know you. You're too hands-on and you have too much pride."

Tak "Perhaps you do. Should my spooch completely fall out from under me and I DIE, I don't have much say in the matter, do I?"

Gaz "Don't think about that for now."

Tak "If anything were to happen to you and your wife, would you trust Dib to care for your offspring?"

Gaz "Definitely. Isla and I agreed to that years ago. Dib is a better "coddle drone" than I am. Don't tell him I said that."

Breakroom sketch, Mother's day/ New mom theme.

Originally was going to draw something to some dialogue involving Squee and his mother, but I didn't want to make myself sad before this shift.

If Mother's day brings up good memories and feelings, have a happy one. If not, well, try to get through it.

Motherhood is challenging, no matter the species.

If it’s not any trouble, is it ok if you can draw that irken elite squad that was going to be in tak the hideous new girl, but didn’t make it?

:DDD

No trouble; and excuse the wait.

I would have love to see that squad running drills on Devastis or something.

can you do headcannons for tak and tenn?

I would absolutely love to! I'm glad I have an excuse to brainstorm for them.

We know so little about either of them, especially Tenn. Mostly making things up.

Here it goes.

Tenn was born in the same birthing hall as Zim, Skoodge, Red, Purple, Gashloog ect, moments before Horrible Painful Overload Day pt 1 began. Their section of the smeetery is rather distant from the mother (green) brain, stationed at the heart of the global smeetery. Usually the smeets born there grow up to be shorter disposable foot soldiers or service drones.

Tenn was often mistaken for Zim as they appeared identical as smeets and she was occasionally punished for his misbehavior. She would sometimes agree to be a distraction for Zim as well in exchange for snacks or later called upon favors…which Zim often backed out of.

Tak was born on the other side of Irk in one of the “good" birthing stations deeper underground (warmer, bigger care drone staff, better maintained and closest to the mother brain.) Usually the smeets born in the good halls grow up to be taller, higher ranking soldiers, invaders or even tallests. Tak however always remained on the shorter end of average, which motivated her to constantly work harder/ improve.

Due to the massive power outrages following HPO day part 1 it was easy for Tak to slip away from her information hub. She would often sneak into the mother brain's chamber. She would stand in the cold green glow of her eyes and chat with the mother brain. The conversations were very one sided; the mother brain never acknowledged Tak, but she never alerted the care drones to retrieve her either. Tak used to believe she and the mother brain shared a close bond. Tak later concludes that she was too small for the mother brain to notice or too small to dignify her with acknowledgment.

Tak and Tenn did not physically meet each other until they entered advanced elite training on the planet Devastas. Tak was actually in a romantic rivalry with fellow soon-to-be invader Zee at this time. They competed for highest stats and praise from their commander. They caught the attention of their peers and TvZ were considered local celebrities.

Tenn was a nobody in the academy. Good enough to be enlisted, but struggled to stand out. She especially followed the Tak v Tenn rivalry closely, studying both their combat techniques and off campus chemistry. Tenn was insanely jealous, of Tak especially; not in a malicious way but in a pining, admiring way. Tenn wanted to BE Tak at that time. Being with her never occurred to her as an option.

Eventually Tenn's stats climbed to equal that of Tak and Zee's. She was pitted against Tak in a battle simulation exercise. Tenn defeated Tak by a thread. The two of them became friends instantly.

Tak started inviting Tenn to join her and Zee on snack runs, cozy couch breaks and Miyuki fan club meetings. Zee noticed a strong chemistry between the two of them. She gently pushed Tak and Tenn together and they have been an item ever since.

As far as head canons about Tak and Tenn individually.

Tak is overly competitive and can become obsessively vindictive (hence the case between her and Zim). Her attempts to foil Zim have put a strain on her relationship with Tenn (who is just naturally more laid back). It has lead to heated arguments between the two.

Tak adores Tenn's thick emerald lashes. The two of them have perfected butterfly kissing.

Tak is VERY protective of Tenn. She is aware Tenn suffers from a lack of confidence. She likes to push Tenn to build her up, but often causes Tenn anxiety instead.

Tak's trademark display of affection is teasing, but she has learned to dial it back for Tenn, as she can only handle so much teasing/ has trouble dishing it out herself.

Tak rarely cries. She usually cries only when alone. Tak is the only living Irken to see Tak break down into tears.

Tak strives for excellence. She works well under pressure. She is innovative and creative, but can sometimes overestimate herself (or underestimate others).

This combined with her inability to let a grudge go is her biggest downfall.

Tak, unlike Zim, will not begrudge an Irken for outdoing her, IF she is convinced her opponent defeated her fairly. She HATES to be cheated.

Tenn is much more patient than Tak. Her greatest strength is her ability to pinpoint weaknesses in the strategies of her opponents/ enemies. Tenn can be an over thinker at times. She rarely takes risks. She is much more passive than Tak and rarely start conflicts, however she will engage in conflict when directly ordered.

Tenn is used to maintaining control over herself/ her affairs. On the rare occasion she loses control, she does panic.

Tenn learned a form of deep meditation during her attempt to invade planet Meekrob.

(After the events of Top of the Line) Mimi is destroyed (accidentally) by Gir's antics, giving Tak further reasons to despise, hold a vendetta against Zim.

Tenn is relieved when her mission failed and the tallest demote her to service drone. Tak is denied any chances of ree-enlisting with the Irken military, permanently encoded as a service drone and is EXTREMELY bitter about it.

Tak's love for Tenn eventually does outweigh her hatred for Zim.

I head canon that Tak and Tenn’s relationship is a slow building polyamorous one, hover they remain a constant duo.

(Icould go on, but I should probably stop XD.)

I wish you nothing but fulfillment and happiness. Do whatever you have to in order to take care of yourself. Also, this is a small, silly thing, but thank you for being brave enough to imagine a world where Irkens have a history and a sense of fashion.

Aw! -hugs

Thank you, that means a lot to hear. I never considered anything I post here brave. I often question how creative I really am. It's just a means to have fun ^^.

And somehow it consistently is fun, imagining the parts of the Irken empire we seemingly never get to see in canon.

The biggest reward I can get from developing my own aus/ posting my own fan content is encouraging someone else to develope/ post theirs. There's something endearing about fan content created and shared out of pure love/ or enjoyment/ or passion.

I'm actually doing a little better. A decent night sleep for once has helped.. The holidays/ new year was a series of headaches/ minor disasters that are being managed. Slowly, but surely rebooting mentally.

I'm like a shark swimming when it comes to drawing; if I stop I die XD. Exaggeration, but life is genuinely empty and dull without hobbies. I've learned this the hard way too many times.. Got discouraged, but haven't given up yet.

Again, thanks for the kind words.

Tak "I will NEVER scrub the garbage smell away in a million years! It's fused with my being!"

Tenn "You smell FINE. Come out and see what I found in my old storage unit."

Tak * excited gasp* "You're in uniform again!"

Tenn "It's most of my old elite training uniform. I had to return the gear after graduation."

Tak "You look gorgeous... and I'm not saying that simply because our outfits will match and I'm overjoyed to see you wearing something besides a scrubbing gown."

Tenn "You could just leave your scrubbing gown on. We would match then too."

Tak "Tempting, but no. Help me get ready for practice."

(A little Tak/ Tenn dialogue

Because...^^)

... WELL, FUCK, ZIM'S PRETTY MUCH IRKEN EL-AHRAIRAH

Lol! In several regards, yes. Zim has kind of stumbled onto thd role after discovering Mem and her PAKless swarm.

Zim "Between me, Tak and Hof, it took everything we had, but the ship constructed. Once it's charged it should get us to Urth and back."

Mem "Hurry home safely."

Zim "I promise nothing. Tak has never co-piloted a ship with me. We may very well drive each other crazy and fling that ship into the nearest star."

Mem "Behave, I mean it; there's too much at stake. Our hive is almost 150 strong now and expanding-- thanks to you, Zim."

Zim "Well...not directly thanks to me. I personally have not expanded the hive in terms of drone count but but I HAVE made some much-needed improvements in the quality of life around here. Save your praise; my efforts will not stop within the hive. Tak and I will return with supplies in a few months and--"

Mem "And perhaps then you can add to the drone count?"

Zim *coughs nervously* "I don't know, Mem."

Mem "No pressure, smeetie. The more of us there are, the better our chances for long term survival, that's all. One goal at a time."

Zim "I---" *sighs* "Yes, Mem. Noted."

Tenn "Tak, one of yours managed to climb into the pantry. They ate all our rations. I have to gather more."

Tak "What makes you so sure this one is one of mine?"

Tenn "They have your mole."

Smeet "I'm hungry! Pweez don't be mad..."

Tak "So they do... Whoa! Were they that tall last night?"

Tenn "I don't think so. Just watch them while I fill our reserves and figure out a way to seal off the compartment."

...

Tak "Here you go, smeetie. I can't believe you're still hungry."

Smeet "Are you and Tenn mad? Am I in trouble?"

Tak "No. You're growing very quickly. Growing makes smeets hungry."

Smeet "It does?"

Tak "It does."

Smeet "Is growing bad?"

Tak "No. We're impressed with your appetite."

Smeet "Yay! May I have more?"

Tak "One more for now."

Smeet "Yay!!"

You mentioned in a previous post that Tak & Tenn had swarms. I've been meaning to ask did they have them w/Mem's sons? Does Mem become a grandmother?

I'm so glad someone picked up in that! Not sure how everyone else feels, but I think these two make such a cute couple. I would love to see these two eventually go rogue and become two badass resisty moms together. (Tak openly hates the process more than Tenn but Mem is a good coach.)

To spoil as little as possible, yes. Tak and Tenn eventually join Mem's hive and give her grandchildren. Well, Tak does in terms of blood. She chooses Mem's brawniest flyer, Helkite, to sire her swarm. Tenn chooses ex-elite scientist Floog to sire hers. Tak wanted her smeets to be strong and beautiful; she has enough brains for her whole swarm. Tenn wanted her smeets to be intelligent, curious and hopefully have purple eyes like Tak.

Mem couldn't be happier to extend the family, especially to such brilliant Irkens.
