Merel Bechtold: This picture was taken during the first official DEAR MOTHER rehearsal. davidos_pear couldn't be there because of bloody travel restrictions. And after 1,5 years of not playing any music with anyone, we couldn't resist the urge anymore. And you know what, it was amazing. Playing with ma boi punto for the first time since the Gentle Storm in 2015 and I'm so happy that he's joining us on stage!! Very soon we will have the first official rehearsals with our Russian dude. Can't wait to hug everyone and start getting ready for the first shows in ......

Merel Bechtold: October 10 was the ‘world mental health day’. Usually I don’t take part in these ‘events’ (well officially I’m too late), but since this is a growing problem (just like the environment and a ton of other things) I would like to promote something that gave me peace and purpose and might do the same for you, your friend or kid. Start playing an instrument. For me as a very bored and bad behaved teenager (I was really bad) it got me back on my feet. It saved me. Playing an instrument is challenging and tons of fun. It will help you to find that moment of peace in your busy work-life schedule. The one-on-one time with yourself that is missing these days is so important (phone addiction is a massive problem). Learning music requires a lot of focus, but therefore allows no other thoughts to pick your brain. A couple of minutes a day keeps the stress away.

Merel Bechtold: Koen van der Meij builds his VanderMeij Magistra guitars in Amsterdam. I always enjoy visiting Koen at his workshop and we spent many hours chatting away about guitars, metal and stuff. This visit I captured Koen's workflow. Which steps does Koen take when he builds an electric guitar from scratch? He's a true master guitar builder and I'm a massive fan of his work.
Merel went on Dutch national television and radio yesterday to talk about the biggest love in her life: her white Vandermeij guitar! Check out the fragment in the link!
