Excited to share that I worked on a big lore book for Elden Ring! check it out at: https://www.tuneandfairweather.com/collections/grace-given-the-mythology-of-elden-ring
Hey man, huge respect for the way you draw armor. Care to explain your process a little? I would be especially interested in the way you get your references. Like drawing helmets for example. You take screenshots in-game at different angles and then paint? You look them up online? Or you simply can imagine them however you want at this point and have no need for a reference? If you could tell me anything I'd be grateful
So first off, it depends on what you want. Do you want to freestyle it and try and convey a certain feeling or aura of the character? Or are you more interested in depicting the character as close as possible to their canon appearance? If it's the former, then only having a pic or two on the side while you're drawing is more than enough, because the drawing itself doesn't have to be as precise and doesn't really concern itself with detail. If it's the latter, then gathering a bit more reference material is preferable. Ideally having a 3d model that you can circle around, I usually fire up the game and dress up my character in the armor I need and go from there. Or if the 3d model is available online for viewing, I use that. Which is more common these days because people 3d print game characters. Good luck on your art journey!
I'm back on tumblr, why not
feels good to post for a smaller audience for a change
Felt the need to draw Richter Belmont for some inexplicable reason.
